Responsibilities & Context:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth transportation and distribution.
- Manage daily transport operations, including fleet management, scheduling, and routing.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transport providers, freight forwarders, and suppliers.
- Monitor transportation costs and ensure cost optimization without compromising service quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, fleet usage, fuel consumption, and driver performance.
- Implement and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for logistics efficiency.
- Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Lead, train, and supervise logistics staff, drivers, and support teams.
- Develop contingency plans to address unexpected disruptions in transport operations
