Educational Requirements:
∎ B. Sc or M.Sc (Hons.) Microbiology

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Through daily /weekly monitoring of water being supplied to the community from water sources, central storage system and distribution points , ensuring that drinking water delivered to refuges in the Clusters and host community is safe and meets SPHERE and WHO standards for human consumption.
∎ Carry out regularly the water quality testing and analysis, chemical, physical and bacteriological testing in target villages and report immediately if there is any suspect of pollution
∎ Supervise the emergency water treatment when the needs arises-chlorination of drinking water supplied to Refugees & Host communities.
∎ Task the field team and lab technician to conduct the daily basis fee residual chlorine of treated water at distribution points (public water stand posts), water storage and randomly selected family water collecting containers.
∎ Inspect regularly the central water storage systems in IDP Clusters and ensure that they are properly maintained and well kept
∎ In collaboration with Hygiene promotion team, organize awareness and education Cluster aligning best practices in handling of water households, cleaning of the family storage containers and separation drinking water from water set for other domestic usage.
∎ Ensure a proper handling and adequate storage of all water treatment chemicals (HTH, Water purification tablets) and other disinfectants.
∎ Record and documents properly the test outcome result of each water testing carried out and recommend appropriated measures accordingly
∎ Ensure requests for all relevant tools and reagents for water testing has been raised on time to ensure adequate stock of reagents in ensured at all times
∎ Ensure the water quality analysis has been carried out at least twice for each borehole drilled – during borehole development and after hand pump installation
∎ Represent BRAC WASH water quality in sector technical working groups
∎ Assist the Team Lead in designing water safety planning an response
∎ Initiate the capacity building requirement for water quality team
∎ Ensure the overall Water Quality Laboratory remained functional
∎ Monthly inventory of the water quality laboratory supplies and prepare report to the team lead
∎ Order the necessary supplies and items that important to keep the laboratory functional

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ Minimum twoyears of experience in water quality testing laboratory or pharmacy or any other relevant organizations.
∎ Good knowledge of AWD.
∎ Good knowledge of water and sanitation issues, and hygiene practice.
∎ English fluency in the language, expected to work independently using the language required, to prepare a variety of written communications (correspondence, reports, working papers, etc.), to participate actively in meetings and in work related discussions.
∎ Ability to use computers and have knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
∎ Teamwork spirit and community mobilization skills
∎ Good communication skills.
∎ Problem solving skills.
