Experience Requirements

• 10–15 years of progressive experience in fabric technology within large-scale RMG/textile sectors in Bangladesh
• Minimum 5 years in a senior technical leadership role (Sr. Manager, AGM, or equivalent)
• Proven track record of working directly with international buyers (Primark, H&M, Walmart, Inditex, etc.)
• Strong background in woven, knit, and blended fabric technologies
• Experience with sustainable fabrics and chemical compliance will be a strong advantage

Skills & Competencies

• Deep knowledge of fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, and testing standards
• Hands-on troubleshooting ability in bulk production and fabric defects
• Excellent communication skills with buyers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Strong leadership and team management skills with cross-functional collaboration

JOB DETAILS:

One of the fastest-growing and diversified business groups in Bangladesh, with successful operations in Ready-Made Garments (RMG), Textiles, Consumer Products, and Retail, is seeking a Senior Manager/Assistant General Manager – Fabric Technologist to join its technical leadership team. The candidate will lead the fabric technology function across woven and knit operations, ensuring innovation, quality, and compliance that strengthen the company’s competitiveness in global markets.

Location: Mainly in Narayanganj EPZ, Dhaka (Head Office), with responsibilities extending to factories in Chattogram and other production hubs

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the General Manager – Production & Technical, the Sr. Manager/AGM – Fabric Technologist will lead the fabric innovation, testing, quality, and compliance functions. This role requires hands-on expertise in fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, and performance standards to ensure all fabrics meet international buyer requirements (H&M, Primark, Inditex, Walmart, etc.). The position demands strong technical leadership, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate with production, merchandising, and R&D teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabric Technology & Innovation

• Lead the development, evaluation, and approval of new fabrics, finishes, and sustainable materials

• Work with R&D teams to introduce eco-friendly, functional, and performance fabrics aligned with global market trends

• Develop process optimization techniques to improve fabric efficiency and reduce wastage

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure fabrics meet buyer standards, international testing protocols (SGS, Intertek, BV), and industry benchmarks

• Lead physical, chemical, and performance testing for shrinkage, colorfastness, GSM, tensile strength, etc.

• Drive continuous improvement in fabric quality and defect reduction through root-cause analysis

Vendor & Buyer Collaboration

• Maintain strong technical liaison with buyers, suppliers, and mills to address fabric issues and approvals

• Participate in buyer meetings, lab-dip approvals, and fabric testing negotiations

• Evaluate and develop fabric suppliers/vendors for long-term strategic partnerships

Production Support

• Work closely with cutting, sewing, dyeing, and finishing teams to troubleshoot fabric-related problems

• Ensure smooth bulk fabric delivery and quality consistency from lab dips to final garment output

• Guide mechanics and technical staff on machinery adjustments for fabric handling and performance

Sustainability & Compliance

• Implement sustainable fabric sourcing and finishing processes in line with global environmental regulations

• Ensure compliance with REACH, Oeko-Tex, ZDHC, and other buyer sustainability frameworks

• Promote recycling, water-saving, and energy-efficient processes in fabric treatment and finishing
