Responsibilities & Context:

• Lead and supervise all marine, dredging and mechanical engineering operations.

• Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of vessels, engines, and mechanical equipment.

• Prepare and control engineering budgets, maintenance costs, and spare parts inventory.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair programs.

• Plan and oversee dry docking, major repairs, and vessel modification projects.

• Manage technical inspections, surveys, and audits.

• Coordinate with ship masters, chief engineers, shipyards, contractors, and suppliers.

• Review and approve technical reports, repair specifications, and engineering documentation.

• Investigate machinery failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and quality management systems.

• Supervise recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of engineering personnel.

• Support vessel acquisition, commissioning, and technical feasibility studies.

• Monitor fuel efficiency, lubrication management, and energy optimization initiatives.

• Provide technical guidance and strategic planning to improve fleet reliability and operational performance.

• Manage the technical operations of lighter vessels, Flat barge and dredging operations.

• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and engineering materials.

• Prepare technical budgets, annual maintenance plans, and management reports.

• Establish engineering standards, SOPs, and best practices across the fleet.

• Lead emergency response for major machinery breakdowns and technical incidents.
