Experience:
BSc in Textile Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Supply Chain / Business (preferred Textile background)
Professional SCM certifications (CPIM/CSCP/CIPS) is must.
3–5 Years for Senior Executive and 5-7 years for Assistant Manager in spinning mill planning & SCM.
Strong knowledge of spinning processes and material flow (cotton/fiber to yarn)
Strong command over planning, forecasting, and inventory control
Practical knowledge of spinning operations and production constraints
Expertise in ERP/MRP, MS Excel (pivot, lookup, dashboards), and MIS reporting
Vendor coordination, negotiation support, and follow-up capability
Analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Job Purpose
To ensure smooth and cost-effective operations of the spinning division by managing production planning, raw material and spare parts planning, procurement coordination, inventory control, logistics coordination, and timely availability of materials to meet production and delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
A) Production Planning & Coordination
Prepare and update daily/weekly/monthly production plans based on demand and capacity.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure plan adherence and minimize downtime.
Monitor machine utilization, efficiency, wastage, and output, and propose corrective actions.
Conduct planning meetings and track plan vs. actual, highlighting risks and recovery plans.
B) Raw Material Planning (Cotton/Fiber/Yarn in Process)
Forecast and plan cotton/fiber requirements considering count-wise demand, mix, and production schedule.
Ensure timely availability of packing materials, chemicals, consumables, and other operational inputs.
Maintain optimum safety stock levels while controlling working capital.
C) Supply Chain & Procurement Coordination
Prepare purchase requisitions as per approved planning and inventory norms.
Follow up with procurement/commercial for PI, LC, shipment schedule, clearance, and delivery.
Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and compliance.
D) Inventory & Warehouse Control
Monitor and manage RM/WIP/FG/spares inventory, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
Track slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete stock and initiate disposal/adjustment actions.
Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable and improve inventory turnover.
E) Spares, Maintenance & Engineering SCM Support
Plan and coordinate critical spares for ring frame, blow room, carding, draw frame, simplex, autoconer, etc.
Maintain a list of critical spares and ensure availability to avoid production interruptions.
Support annual maintenance shutdown planning through material/spares availability assurance.
F) Reporting, MIS & System Compliance
Maintain MIS reports on:
Production plan vs actual
RM consumption vs standard
Inventory status & days of cover
Supplier lead time performance
Loss/wastage trends
Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in ERP (SAP/Oracle/IFS/Other).
Support audits, compliance, and documentation (ISO/ERP/Internal Audit).
G) Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
Drive initiatives for lead time reduction, inventory optimization, waste reduction, and process improvement.
Develop and update SOPs for planning and SCM processes.
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
