∎ JOB PURPOSE: The Specialist, Climate Adaptive Agriculture is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of acute food insecurity crises around the world and the role of climate extremes in these events. Synthesize information and data collected on climate monitoring, forecasting, and livelihoods in order to contribute to taskers, briefing notes, technical memos and reports. The Specialist, Climate Adaptive Agriculture will be in a key strategic position to support the Climate Resilience Early Warning System (CREWSnet) project, in driving the Climate Adaptation and resilience agenda forward in farming including agronomy, horticulture, fisheries and livestock, etc.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for analysing the local agricultural information required by the project.
∎ Ensure documenting the current and past agricultural practices of the project areas specifically the coast.
∎ Responsible for climatic impact assessment and climate risk analysis on agriculture and framing.
∎ Ensure review the environment and climatic data and agriculture and keep the research and implementation team aware of the updated information.
∎ Responsible to disseminate the framing and climatic information with the community in an easy language.
∎ Ensure close communication with local government and local administration and provide support to activity planning on the related authorizes.
∎ Work closely and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues and partners to discuss operational and implementation issues, provide solutions, and recommendations and develop demand-focused climate smart agricultural actions.
∎ Ensure active participation in local-level planning and execution.
∎ Develop data management macanism regarding weather hazards, climate forecast, and food security, with the ability to then summarize and provide feedback.
∎ Responsible to Documentation, Article writing and communication tools development.
∎ Responsible to prepare monthly, periodic, need-based reports.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Computer Literacy (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
∎ Excellent speaking and writing skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Proposal and Report writing.
∎ Supervision of field operations.
∎ Financial Management and Budgeting.
∎ People Management & Donor Coordination.
∎ Minimum 5 years work experience in the relevant field.
