∎ JOB PURPOSE: CREWSnet will extend proven forecasting and simulation methods to predict climate impacts at village- and community-scale in western Bangladesh. The Social inclusion & community capacity building Specialist will be in a key strategic position to support CREWSnet in understanding the social aspects of climate change and steps towards community inclusion in adaptation planning and resilience action.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Analyze the state of social aspects and the impact of the local environment and climate change on the socio-economic state.
∎ Strengthen the capacity of the local community in incorporating climate change aspects while planning and designing development actions.
∎ Understand the policy aspects of mainstreaming the climate change and climate change advocacy process.
∎ Develop the community mainstreaming and capacity-building strategy to achieve the project goal.
∎ Policy advocacy towards community inclusion.
∎ Literature review on the social aspects and keep the research and implementation team aware of the updated information.
∎ Communicate the environmental and climatic information with the community in an easy language.
∎ Provide support to activity planning on environmental governance.
∎ Active participation in local-level planning and execution.
∎ Provide programmatic and technical support to the project team, community organizations, government counterparts, and other stakeholders on identifying gender and inclusion gaps that affect indigenous groups in the focus area, and effective integration of gender and social inclusion considerations.
∎ Documentation, Article writing and communique development on social inclusion & community capacity building.
∎ Prepare monthly, periodic, need-based reports.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Computer Literacy (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
∎ Excellent speaking and writing skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Proposal and Report writing.
∎ Supervision of field operations.
∎ Financial Management and Budgeting.
∎ People Management & Donor Coordination.
∎ Minimum 5 years work experience in the relevant field.
