Located conveniently near Daffodil University in Ashulia, Dhaka, we aim to provide stylish options that cater to the dynamic lifestyles of young adults. As we launch our operations, we are seeking a dedicated Shop Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of our operations. The role involves overseeing store operations, managing a team of 4 part-time salespeople and 1 assistant, and driving sales in a vibrant, student-centric environment.
Job Description / Role
The Shop Manager will be the key operational leader of Unseen Style, responsible for managing the entire store's performance, encompassing inventory and sales, customer satisfaction, and team supervision. This hands-on role requires a proactive individual with retail experience who can thrive in a fast-paced setting, handle long shifts, and build a loyal customer base among university students. The manager will report directly to the shop owners and play a pivotal role in establishing the brand's presence in the local community.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
Supervise and mentor a team of 4 part-time salespeople and 1 assistant, including scheduling shifts, providing training on product knowledge and sales techniques, and conducting performance evaluations.
Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock, placing orders with suppliers, conducting regular stock counts, and minimizing losses through effective theft prevention and waste control.
Drive sales targets by implementing promotional strategies, upselling products, and analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities, especially tailored to student preferences (e.g., seasonal discounts, student deals).
Ensure exceptional customer service by handling inquiries, resolving complaints, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits from university students.
Maintain accurate financial records, including daily sales reports, expense tracking, and prepare monthly summaries for management review.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely deliveries and quality checks on readymade brands.
Implement health, safety, and hygiene standards in the store, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Collaborate with the owners on marketing initiatives, such as social media promotions or campus events, to attract more customers.
Handle administrative tasks, including payroll for the team (under supervision) and basic HR functions like recruitment support for part-time roles.
