The Senior Merchandiser Manager – Knit & Woven plays a key role in the product development and order execution process, bridging the gap between buyers, suppliers, and internal production teams. This role focuses on managing the entire merchandising cycle — from product costing and sampling to bulk production and shipment — for both knit and woven categories.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & Costing
Analyze buyer’s tech packs, product specifications, and target prices for both knit and woven items.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns (fabric, trims, accessories, CM, overheads, margins).
Liaise with fabric mills, trim suppliers, and production units to obtain cost inputs and quotations.
Ensure cost competitiveness while maintaining required quality and compliance standards.
Review and update costing based on design changes, order quantity, and material variations.
Present cost sheets and profitability reports to management for pricing approval.
Act as the key contact between buyers and internal teams for all merchandising activities.
Coordinate order placements, sampling, approvals, and bulk execution.
Handle buyer inquiries, feedback, and changes efficiently to maintain customer satisfaction.
Manage order follow-ups, ensuring all approvals (fit, fabric, trims, pre-production) are completed on time.
Source suitable materials aligned with buyer requirements and cost constraints.
Develop new fabrics and trims in collaboration with mills and accessory suppliers.
Maintain vendor price lists and establish reliable supplier networks for both knit and woven categories.
Coordinate with production, planning, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
Monitor order status from cutting to shipment, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Address production issues (shortages, delays, quality deviations) promptly and effectively.
Ensure on-time delivery through proactive follow-ups and coordination.
Compare projected costing with actual post-production costs to identify gaps.
Recommend cost-saving initiatives through material optimization, efficiency improvements, and vendor negotiation.
Keep track of market price trends and competitor costing to maintain business competitiveness.
Prepare and maintain all costing, order, and shipment documentation accurately.
Update management on order status, profitability, and costing trends regularly.
Maintain data records in ERP/PLM systems for traceability and analysis.
Guide junior merchandisers and assistants in daily merchandising and costing tasks.
Foster collaboration with cross-functional departments such as design, production, quality, and sourcing.
Contribute to continuous process improvements within the merchandising team.
