Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Sample Development: Oversee the creation of sample garments, including pattern making, fabric selection, and sewing.
∎ Quality Control: Ensure all samples meet quality standards, including styling, measurements, and fitting
∎ Communication: Liaise with buyers, vendors, pattern makers, and technicians to address sample-related issues and ensure quality standards are achieved.
∎ Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
∎ Inventory Management: Maintain records of patterns, samples, and related materials.
∎ Team Supervision: Manage and train a team of sample room staff, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
∎ Technical Support: Provide technical advice and support to the merchandising and production teams.
∎ Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to sample production, including fabric changes and construction problems.
∎ Coordination: Working closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams to ensure smooth sample production.
∎ Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of sample production, including patterns, materials, and specifications.
∎ Scheduling: Planning and managing the sample production schedule to ensure timely delivery.
