Minimum 5 to 7 years of practical working experience in a knit garment manufacturing environment.
Must possess strong technical knowledge and expertise in sewing operations, machine handling, and various stitch types relevant to knitwear.
Responsibilities & Context:
Additional Concise Responsibilities (12 Points)
- Thoroughly analyze and interpret buyer's tech packs, sketches, and specifications to initiate sample development.
- Oversee initial sample trial runs to identify potential production difficulties or technical constraints.
- Monitor material usage in the sample room to ensure cost-effective consumption before bulk cutting.
- Ensure the sample room machinery and tools are well-maintained and calibrated for precise work.
- Supervise the creation of garment dummies (models/prototypes) for fit checks and initial presentation.
- Clearly communicate the approved style details, stitching methods, and critical points to the bulk production floor.
- Quickly identify and resolve technical problems (e.g., fabric shrinkage, stitching issues) that arise during sampling.
- Occasionally interact directly with buyer representatives or QA personnel regarding sample approvals and feedback.
- Maintain an organized physical and digital library of all approved samples and related documents for future reference.
- Verify the quality, color, and placement of all required trims and accessories (e.g., labels, buttons, zippers).
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and industrial guidelines within the sample room environment.
- Propose and implement efficiency improvements within the sampling process to reduce lead time and waste.
