Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Law and international buyer Codes of Conduct.

Strong understanding of social, environmental, technical, and sustainability compliance requirements.

Ability to communicate effectively with buyers, auditors, certification bodies, and senior management.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and documentation skills.

Willingness to travel frequently to factory sites and client/buyer offices.



Responsibilities & Context:

We are seeking an experienced Asst. Manager/ Manager - Compliance & Sustainability to ensure compliance with local regulations and international buyer standards, while leading sustainability initiatives across operations and supply chain.

  • Lead and manage all social, technical, environmental, and sustainability audits conducted by buyers, third parties, and certification bodies.

  • Develop and implement an effective Compliance & Sustainability strategy aligned with business objectives and international standards.

  • Ensure full compliance with Bangladesh Labor Law, local regulations, international buyer Codes of Conduct (CoC), and applicable industry standards.

  • Conduct regular internal compliance audits and risk assessments across factory operations and supply chain activities.

  • Identify compliance gaps, assess risks, and ensure timely implementation of necessary corrective actions.

  • Develop, monitor, and ensure timely closure of Corrective Action Plans (CAP) arising from internal and external audits.

  • Lead and monitor sustainability programs including the Higg Index (FEM/FSLM) and other relevant sustainability assessment tools.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report key Environmental KPIs, including energy consumption, water consumption, waste generation, and reduction initiatives.

  • Develop and implement effective waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and environmental improvement programs.

  • Ensure continuous improvement against global sustainability benchmarks, buyer requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Lead and coordinate certification processes and maintain required certifications such as GRS (Global Recycled Standard), OCS, GOTS, and other relevant certifications.

  • Maintain proper documentation, records, policies, procedures, and evidence required for audits and certifications.

  • Act as the key point of contact for buyers, auditors, certification bodies, consultants, and relevant stakeholders on compliance and sustainability matters.

  • Conduct regular visits to factory locations, production facilities, and client/buyer offices to inspect operations, identify risks, and ensure compliance alignment.

  • Lead and develop the Compliance & Sustainability team, assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide necessary guidance and training.

  • Conduct regular training and awareness programs for employees and management on compliance, environmental, social, and sustainability requirements.

  • Prepare and present management reports, audit status, CAP progress, sustainability performance, and compliance KPIs to senior management.

  • Keep the organization updated on changes in local laws, buyer requirements, international standards, and sustainability regulations and ensure necessary actions are taken.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the company’s overall compliance culture and sustainability performance.
