Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Monitor and ensure all wash processes meet buyer-approved standards and specifications.
∎ Identify and resolve wash-related defects such as shade variation, streaks, back staining, or uneven washing.
∎ Work closely with laundries to develop and improve wash recipes as per buyer requirements.
∎ Ensure all fabric tests (shrinkage, color fastness, pH level, rubbing, etc.) meet required standards.
∎ Ensure all wash and fabric processes follow international quality standards (AATCC, ISO, etc.).
∎ Detect and resolve wash-related problems, such as poor softening, pilling, or fabric damage.
∎ Provide solutions to avoid shrinkage and torque issues in garments after washing.
∎ Work closely with factories, merchandisers, and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met.
∎ Conduct pre-production meetings with vendors and mills to ensure fabric and wash readiness.
∎ Conduct in-line and final inspections to ensure garments meet buyer’s quality standards.
∎ Identify potential risks in fabric and wash processes before bulk production.
∎ Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance fabric performance and wash durability.
∎ Visit fabric mills from time to time and check the quality of the fabrics that are supposed to be used for the production.
∎ A very renowned garments customer based in the USA and Hong Kong is looking to hire a dynamic, energetic, and analytical Wash Technician with thorough knowledge of denim fabrics. The incumbent must have the initiative, experience, and drive to deliver high-quality results.
