This position will ensure the effective implementation of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Safeguarding measures within the IRB Education Project at Bhasan Char. The role involves promoting a safe and protective environment for children and vulnerable groups by strengthening awareness, reporting mechanisms, and accountability. The officer will support capacity-building initiatives for staff, teachers, volunteers, and community members to prevent safeguarding violations and ensure adherence to organizational policies and donor compliance standards.
The position requires close collaboration with education teams, community leaders, government counterparts, and inter-agency coordination platforms to uphold safeguarding principles. Responsibilities include supporting investigations, maintaining confidential case records, conducting regular monitoring, and ensuring timely reporting. The officer will also lead awareness campaigns, develop training materials, and contribute to the integration of safeguarding and PSEA standards across all program activities.
This role requires strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a humanitarian setting. The incumbent must demonstrate high integrity, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to safeguarding principles.
Ensure PSEA and Child Safeguarding in the Schools in the Bhasan Char camp - 50%
Ensure PSEA and child safeguarding in schools in Bhasan Char
Ensure the psychosocial well-being of the students by following up
Give required training to the teachers/staff according to the sector lead
Provide psychosocial support training and counselling to the FDMN teachers and the Staff
Design training schedule, module, and budget with input from concerned persons
Plan and deliver a monthly training plan to the Team Lead and the donor
Work as PSEA & Safeguarding focal point of the Education sector
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members, from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Monitoring and Knowledge Management - 20%
Conduct regular team meetings and share the knowledge & findings to ensure effective programme implementation.
Assist the programme management and MEAL team to conduct research, study, data collection and impact assessment as per (MEAL framework and ensure quality implementation.
Take the initiative to make the CFRM (Complaint and Feedback Response Mechanism) active and monitor regularly, and circulate other Govt. hotline services (i.e. 999, 333, 109);
Conduct programme risks assessment and share the mitigation strategy with programme management regularly.
Manage various audits (external & internal) and queries from different agencies regarding respective field offices as per the organizational requirement.
Showcase the ability to use photos, videos, and text to inform and engage both local and international audiences.
Financial Management - 10%
Manage project finance & budget (i.e., Bill, vouchers, PR, money requisition, cash advance, etc.) following organizational tools & system;
Maintain oversight of grant disbursement to direct beneficiaries as well as other contractual aspects of the programme, and provide required support to ensure financial reports as per the requirements of programme management.
Staff Management & Capacity Building - 10%
Manage, supervise, and support the field staff in conducting their assigned responsibilities as well as play a mentoring role as required.
Ensure the required capacity of respective field staff in delivering qualitative output, and properly acknowledge their performance (annual performance appraisal, daily attendance, field movement register) at least bi-weekly.
Identify learning & development needs and take required action to fill the gaps/needs in coordination with programme management and HRM&D unit.
Ensure proper action to make the staff accountable for their responsibilities as well as to the IR.
Other - 5%
Participate & be involved with seasonal programs (Ramadan, Qurbani, Winterization, etc.) activities.
Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the projects.
