• Bachelor/Honors

• Diploma in counseling, social work, psychology or other related field is essential. Trainings related to MHPSS is desired.1 year professional experience is essential.

• At least 1 year

• Age 18 to 59 years
• Only Female

• Experience in MHPSS in (I)NGO is highly desirable. MSF experience is an asset.

• Advanced level of Chittagonian and Bengali and Intermediate level of English are essential.

Main Purpose:

Provide counseling and/or education sessions to patients, following different medical and mental health MSF protocols and procedures, in order to improve their psychosocial condition.

Accountabilities:

·       Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic and administrative needs for patients

·       Actively promote the availability of counseling services and carry out, individual or in group counseling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.

·       Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary in order to propose the best support available.

·       Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities and look after it.

·       Keep files and statistics of daily activities.

·       Participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other members of the MH team, preserving confidentiality

·       Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.

·       Take active part in trainings, supervisions/intervisions and support the activities manager when necessary in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.

• Discuss difficulties and problems in counseling with supervisor .

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:

•          Provide PSS individual counselling sessions and group sessions to patients and caregivers accessing our services, in all facilities and places of intervention, according to the activity calendar and programmatic priorities.

•          Work according to MSF protocols and guidelines.

•          Ensure data are collected following MSF protocols and standards

•          Participate in case discussions, training sessions and supervisions

His/her job is driven by medical ethics and humanitarian principles

•       Salary according to MSF salary grid (Level 5) BDT 68,500,

•       two (2) annual leave days per month worked.
