Experience Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of experience working with youth and adolescents in community development or climate initiatives.
- Experience facilitating youth engagement in climate action, DRR awareness, environmental education and community preparedness.
- Ability to mobilize youth groups for campaigns, advocacy and anticipatory action initiatives.
- Good facilitation, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion and youth leadership principles.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with local level stakeholders and GoB officials.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities & Context: Project Name : Children & Youth Leading Inclusive Movements for Adaptation, Transformation & Environmental Resilience (CLIMATE).
Duration : Approximately 03 (Three) years.
Location : Zanjira Upazila, Shariatpur
Reporting To : Project Officer
SDS (Shariatpur Development Society) is a Bangladesh-based non-governmental organization founded in 1991 and formally registered with the Department of Social Welfare (1992), the NGO Affairs Bureau (1993) and the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (2008). SDS received its first foreign funding in 1994 and established a long-standing partnership with PKSF in 1996. Working primarily in climate-vulnerable areas, SDS addresses climate change-induced vulnerabilities, disaster risks and structural poverty through participatory, inclusive and accountable approaches. SDS has experience working with institutional donors including UNDP, UNICEF, WFP, UN Women, FAO, IOM, CARE, Islamic Relief and START Network members and is actively engaged in national, regional and global networks such as CANSA, GNDR, NEAR, INAFI, APWLD and Girls Not Brides. The Youth Facilitators will work directly with adolescents and young people to strengthen leadership, participation and community action on climate resilience and environmental sustainability. The role will mobilize youth groups, facilitate training and awareness sessions and support youth-led initiatives and advocacy. The position will ensure meaningful inclusion of girls, marginalized youth and youth with disabilities in project activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate formation and strengthening of youth and child groups (25%)
- Deliver youth leadership, climate, DRR and advocacy sessions (25%)
- Support youth-led initiatives, campaigns and innovation activities (20%)
- Promote gender equality, disability inclusion and safeguarding (15%)
- Document youth activities, stories and learning (15%)
