Responsibilities & Context: Islamic Relief Bangladesh (IRB), under its Economic Empowerment and Governance Programme, is implementing initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable livelihoods of rural women through micro-entrepreneurship and improving the socio-economic resilience of extremely poor communities. This position will be responsible for the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of field-level activities in alignment with organizational strategies and project objectives. The role requires proven expertise in community mobilization, livelihood development, and rights-based approaches, along with the ability to foster partnerships with government institutions, NGOs, private sector actors, and community-based organizations. The incumbent is expected to ensure quality outputs, adherence to safeguarding and gender sensitivity standards, and contribute to sustainable impact for the targeted communities
Ensure quality, relevant, and effective project implementations to bring about sustainable changes to the lives of the targeted poorest people - 50%
- Responsible for field management and implementation of the project’s interventions to ensure that deadlines are met and activities produce quality outputs.
- Be in line with organizational strategic objectives and goals.
- Provision of the IRB country strategy implementation at the field level.
- Support team members to enable them to give of their best, e.g., by encouraging and praising good performance, coaching, assisting staff to prevent or resolve problems, providing resources, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure team members are given appropriate workloads and are working efficiently.
- Coordinate and provide substantive technical support to the implementation of the project.
- Identify areas for support and intervention related to the project and provide support to timely achievement.
- Support the line manager in developing details work plan (component-wise and activity-wise)
- Coordinate relationships with stakeholders, duty bearers to support the implementation and expansion of the project.
- Support organizing inception, coordination, execution, monitoring, reporting, and closure of projects.
- Ensure quality and standards of technical interventions.
- Support carrying out the monthly expenditure analysis, preparing reports, and meeting the fund.
- Conduct regular follow-up on the project activity and work progress.
- Assist in mitigating any risks within the project (financial, human resources, or legal consequences) or negatively impact the government or IRB’s reputation.
- Take necessary arrangements for self-help group leadership development training, savings and credit management, linkage development, etc.
- Identify and select skills development training need assessment, develop a training plan, method, and upgrade training design.
- Support ensuring the requirements of the MEAL framework.
- Ensure Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), DNH, Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues concerning project activities.
- Ensure that the project adopts best practice in integrated rural development, agricultural marketing, and adaptation, and takes up recommendations.
Ensure effective reporting, documentation, and visibility according to the project needs - 20%
- Produce documents and analyses innovative strategies/best practices/new approaches, formulate case studies, knowledge management, and dissemination.
- Support preparing high-quality reports (monthly, quarterly, interim, and final narrative reports), both narrative and quantitative information.
- Take the lead in documentation and sharing of Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning.
- Assess project performance to identify success factors and incorporate best practices into project work.
- Compile relevant project data & prepare documents for creating the evidence base for climate adaptive livelihood practices, awareness and capacity development, claimed basic rights and SSN, & DRR.
- Assist with data collection, processing, and analysing data from the field and producing information/briefs for interventions, strategies, projects, and programmes.
- Assure compilation & sharing of results, learning, and uptake from all the activities.
- Assist the project account officer in preparing the financial report of expenditure and updating it from time to time.
- Developing need-based IEC training materials, leaflets, billboards, etc., as effective communication materials
Effective project monitoring and administration - 10%
- Contribute performance of the project activities
- Assist in analysing the impact of the project and promote learning by documenting best practices.
- Ensure tracking of project risks in collaboration
- Conduct orientation for key stakeholders on Complaints & Feedback Mechanism (CFM), Child Protection, Safeguarding & Gender Sensitivity issues concerning project activities.
- Organize meetings for communities at project sites to reflect on project approaches, tools, impact of interventions, best practices, exit & sustainability strategies.
- Facilitate external/internal evaluation and audit.
- Any other tasks assigned by the project Manager/Supervisor/Management.
Comprehensive and effective communication, coordination, and advocacy with different stakeholders - 15%
- Coordination & communication with project stakeholders, GOs, NGOs, private sectors, CBOs, Service providers & IRCO representatives.
- Mobilize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and other events.
- Support mapping of government service provider departments (agriculture, livestock, health, etc) and building a network with relevant service providers.
- Maintain effective networking, coordination with appropriate liaise with different stakeholders, duty bearers, GOB, NGOs.
