Trutex Apparel is a 100% export-oriented garment manufacturing company located in Kendua, Netrokona, Mymensingh.
We are looking for an experienced, practical, and hands-on Project Engineer to manage the factory’s construction, renovation, electrical infrastructure, utility improvement, and development projects.
The selected candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and act as the company’s technical representative in coordinating with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, design teams, government and compliance consultants, construction contractors, electrical contractors, solar EPC companies, LPS contractors, and other technical vendors.
The position is primarily project-focused. The successful candidate must be capable of independently following up projects from planning and design coordination through BOQ review, contractor selection support, site supervision, quality control, progress monitoring, testing, commissioning, documentation, and final handover.
The company currently has several major development projects, including:
• Installation of a Lightning Protection System (LPS)
• Installation of a rooftop solar power and energy storage system
• Construction of new non-production and worker/staff welfare facilities
• Factory electrical infrastructure improvement
• Renovation and development projects within the factory campus
• Development of preventive maintenance systems for factory utilities and major equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and monitor construction, renovation, electrical, utility, and factory development projects.
• Act as the company’s technical representative between the Managing Director, architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, design teams, contractors, and suppliers.
• Coordinate projects from initial concept and design development through construction, installation, testing, commissioning, documentation, and handover.
• Review architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and MEP drawings and identify practical conflicts, missing details, and site-related issues.
• Prepare, review, and verify project BOQs, technical specifications, material requirements, contractor quotations, work orders, variation orders, and cost estimates.
• Compare contractor and supplier quotations based on both technical and commercial considerations.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, material usage, workmanship, and contractor performance.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports for management.
• Verify completed quantities and quality of work before recommending contractor bills and payments.
• Maintain proper project records, including approved drawings, revisions, quotations, contracts, inspection reports, test reports, as-built drawings, warranties, and handover documents.
• Manage and coordinate new construction, expansion, renovation, and infrastructure development within the factory campus.
• Coordinate the development of non-production, administrative, staff, and worker welfare facilities, including:
– Medical room and first-aid facilities
– Prayer room
– Staff dormitory and accommodation facilities
– Canteen and dining areas
– Childcare and daycare facilities
– Staff training and meeting rooms
– Administrative and office facilities
– Roads, walkways, drainage, water supply, sewerage, and other campus infrastructure
• Coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and other building service requirements.
• Ensure that construction work follows approved drawings, specifications, required safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Check construction materials and workmanship quality at the project site.
• Identify construction defects, deviations from drawings, incorrect material usage, and poor workmanship, and ensure corrective action is taken.
• Coordinate the planning, design review, installation, testing, and documentation of the factory Lightning Protection System.
• Coordinate with qualified LPS consultants, designers, contractors, and testing parties.
• Review LPS drawings, BOQs, material specifications, routing, down conductors, earthing arrangements, testing requirements, and related documentation.
• Coordinate the LPS layout with rooftop solar panels, access pathways, water tanks, and other existing or future rooftop equipment to avoid technical conflicts and future rework.
• Supervise installation quality and coordinate testing, commissioning, and project handover documentation.
• Coordinate with solar consultants, structural engineers, electrical engineers, solar EPC contractors, and other relevant parties.
• Coordinate structural assessment of the existing factory roof before installation.
• Review and coordinate solar panel layout, roof access pathways, cable routing, inverter locations, electrical protection systems, earthing systems, and energy storage locations.
• Coordinate the integration of the solar system with the factory’s electrical distribution system, utility power supply, generator system, and future power requirements.
• Monitor installation progress, material quality, workmanship, testing, commissioning, performance verification, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants and relevant authorities for required approvals and documentation.
• Supervise and coordinate factory electrical infrastructure and improvement projects, including:
– Main electrical distribution systems
– LT panels and distribution boards
– Generator systems
– Industrial electrical wiring and cable routing
– Earthing and grounding systems
– Lightning protection systems
– Industrial and emergency lighting
– Air compressor electrical connections
– Water pumps and utility systems
– Steam and ironing equipment connections
– New building electrical installations
– Emergency and backup power systems
– Rooftop solar and energy storage integration
• Identify electrical safety risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate preventive inspections, testing, servicing, and maintenance of major electrical systems.
• Supervise electricians, technicians, external contractors, and service providers as required.
• Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for major factory utilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Maintain equipment lists, maintenance histories, service schedules, inspection records, and major spare-parts requirements.
• Coordinate external service providers and specialist contractors when required.
• Support root-cause analysis of repeated equipment and utility breakdowns.
• Recommend practical and cost-effective long-term corrective solutions.
• Monitor the condition and maintenance requirements of major factory equipment and systems, including generators, air compressors, steam and ironing systems, pumps, electrical distribution systems, and other utilities.
This is primarily a project management, construction, and engineering coordination position. The selected candidate will not be expected to personally repair every machine but must have sufficient technical understanding to supervise technicians, evaluate problems, coordinate contractors, and ensure proper solutions are implemented.
The candidate should have practical working knowledge of, or proven experience coordinating projects under, applicable requirements including:
• Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC)
• Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) requirements
• Bangladesh Labour Act and relevant Rules concerning factory infrastructure and worker welfare facilities
• Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence requirements
• BGMEA-related factory compliance requirements
• Factory structural, electrical, and fire safety requirements
• Building and occupancy-related approval requirements applicable to industrial facilities
• Buyer audit requirements and international social, safety, and infrastructure compliance standards applicable to export-oriented garment factories
• Relevant standards and requirements for industrial electrical systems, Lightning Protection Systems, rooftop solar systems, and energy storage systems
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with qualified consultants, designers, testing agencies, contractors, and relevant authorities where specialized design, certification, testing, or approval is required.
