  • At least 07 (Seven) years of demonstrated experience in projects of which 03 (Three) years in managing projects with a particular focus on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) with reputed organisations preferably with INGOs, donor agencies or international organisations is required. Working experience in a partnership mode with national NGOs is preferable.

  • Demonstrated experience of WASH System Strengthening at the local government level preferably at the municipality and union parishad levels and advocacy with DGHS and LGIs.

  • Knowledge: Knowledge on WASH system strengthening and local governance is a must. Knowledge and practical experience of working process of municipality and union parishads is desirable.

  • Skill: Relationship building with LGIs (Union Parishad and Municipality) and national NGOs is preferable. Good communication skills and experience to work with partners and donors; pro-activeness, positive attitude and professional integrity are required as well.

  • Competencies: Must be able to lead a team of professional staff, a team player with mutual trust and understanding in a mixed team, self-motivated, problem solver, demonstrates gender and cultural awareness, effective communicator, capable to work under extreme pressure, ability to prioritize works and meet deadlines. Ready to undertake extensive field visits as required.

Job Purpose

  • The Project Coordinator will be the overall management lead for WS4H project implementation in Bangladesh and will work within the envelop of WaterAid Bangladesh’s Universal Access Programme and in close coordination with SNV. The incumbent provides overall leadership and support to the WS4H programme team in WaterAid Bangladesh. This will be accomplished by building and strengthening programme delivery and by providing strategic analysis and support. S/He is accountable for managing all the resources of WS4H Programme in Bangladesh and responsible for maintaining effective management of the WS4H programme through team members in WAB and of partners implementing the project.

  • This role is responsible for overall management of WS4H which includes developing the WS4H programme implementation strategy within the parameters and includes the management, supervision and development of the WS4H staff team also helping identify and hire new staff where needed.

  • The Project Coordinator - WS4H ensures effective management and efficient delivery of WASH Systems for Health (WS4H) project. S/He will work effectively with the Universal Acccess Programme Lead and Director - Programmes and Policy Advocacy to support the overall strategic development and to ensure effective operational delivery of the programme. H/She will also work with various functions within the WaterAid Bangladesh and SNV including: WaterAid Technical Backstopping Team to strengthen project implementation, innovation and influencing; Monitoring, Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) to ensure that Programme maximises the understanding of its impact; Partnerships management and effective communications for efficient programme delivery; and, People & Organisational development to ensure the development and support of the WS4H project staff and change management. S/He will ensure the necessary support from SNV especially for private sector engagement, digitisation of the municipality utility system etc.
