Job Summary:
The Civil Engineer oversees the end-to-end civil construction, structural engineering, and infrastructure development of a brand-new (greenfield) beverage manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all industrial buildings, heavy equipment foundations, drainage networks, and specialized cleanroom structures are built according to engineering designs, safety codes, and tight project timelines.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Site Development & Earthworks

• Oversee initial site clearing, grading, excavation, and leveling of greenfield site.

• Coordinate soil testing and topographical surveys to ensure accurate foundation layouts.

• Manage the construction of internal roads, heavy-vehicle layout zones, and boundary infrastructure.

2. Industrial Foundations & Structural Execution

• Supervise the laying of deep concrete foundations capable of supporting heavy beverage machinery (e.g., high-speed bottling lines, massive blending tanks, pasteurizers, and silos).

• Inspect and approve the erection of structural steel frameworks, pre-engineered buildings (PEB), and roofing for main production halls and warehouses.

• Ensure precise leveling of floors, with a heavy focus on anti-microbial, chemical-resistant epoxy or polyurethane flooring essential for food and beverage zones.

3. Water Management & Utilities Infrastructure

• Oversee the civil construction of specialized water infrastructure, including Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP).

• Direct the installation of complex underground utility networks, process drainage systems, and industrial slope-drains designed for high-volume liquid discharge.

• Manage rainwater harvesting structures and robust storm-water management networks.

4. Quality Control & Safety Compliance

• Perform rigorous quality checks on construction materials (concrete slump tests, steel reinforcement verification) to ensure compliance with architectural designs.

• Enforce strict construction safety standards on-site to maintain a zero-accident workplace.

• Ensure all civil works comply with local building regulations, environmental laws, and food safety standards (such as HACCP or GMP-friendly layouts).

5. Contractor Management & Progress Tracking

• Supervise civil sub-contractors, ensuring they deliver work within budget and according to the agreed project timeline.

• Verify contractor billing and measurement sheets against physical progress on the ground.

• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers to ensure seamless integration of utilities into the civil structures.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

• Experience: 3–7 years of experience in industrial construction, ideally with a background in food, beverage, pharma, or FMCG processing plants.

• Key Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD; deep understanding of concrete technology and structural steel; strong knowledge of drainage design and leveling; excellent contractor management skills.

• Communication: Proficiency to speak read and write fluently in English and Bangla.
