Experience:
Experience in residential, commercial or multi-storey building construction will be given preference.
Candidates with strong hands-on RCC construction experience are encouraged to apply.
Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings.
Practical knowledge of reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry and finishing work.
Basic knowledge of MEP coordination.
Ability to plan construction activities and monitor progress.
Ability to manage contractors and workers firmly and professionally.
Basic knowledge of BOQ, measurements and contractor billing.
Good understanding of construction materials and quality control.
Strong observation and problem-solving ability.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Excel and prepare basic progress reports.
Willingness to remain actively involved at site.
Strong sense of responsibility, honesty and discipline.
We are looking for a responsible, practical and hands-on Civil Engineer to take charge of the day-to-day planning, supervision and coordination of an ongoing building construction project.
This is a site-based role for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility, coordinating contractors, checking workmanship, planning upcoming activities, monitoring progress and ensuring that construction work is completed properly and on schedule.
The selected candidate should be proactive, organized and confident in dealing with contractors and site workers.
Plan daily and weekly construction activities and ensure work progresses according to schedule.
Prepare and maintain short-term work plans and look-ahead schedules.
Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, workers and site activities.
Monitor daily progress and compare actual work with planned targets.
Identify delays, manpower shortages, material shortages or site problems in advance.
Follow up with the contractor to ensure adequate manpower, materials and equipment are available.
Supervise all major civil and structural construction activities.
Ensure work is carried out according to approved architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
Check reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, plaster, waterproofing, tiles and finishing works.
Inspect reinforcement size, spacing, cover, lap length, anchorage and placement before concrete casting.
Inspect formwork alignment, level, dimensions, support and cleanliness before pouring concrete.
Supervise concrete pouring, compaction, slump testing, cube sampling and curing.
Ensure important work is inspected before it is covered or concealed.
Monitor quality of materials delivered to site and check against approved specifications.
Maintain records of concrete test results, steel tests, material approvals and other quality documents.
Identify defective or non-compliant work and ensure correction before further work proceeds.
Maintain accurate measurements of completed work.
Verify contractor quantities and assist in checking running bills against actual work completed.
Monitor BOQ quantities and identify additional or variation work.
Ensure no unauthorized changes are made to approved drawings or specifications.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and other consultants when clarification is required.
Identify drawing conflicts, missing details or site issues before they cause delays.
Monitor material requirements and inform management in advance of upcoming needs.
Maintain daily site records including manpower, activities, materials, equipment, delays and instructions.
Take regular photographs and videos of ongoing, completed and concealed works.
Maintain proper documentation of site progress, inspections, quality issues and contractor activities.
Attend and conduct regular site coordination meetings.
Prepare weekly progress updates and highlight delays, risks and upcoming priorities.
Ensure proper site safety, scaffolding, housekeeping, barricading and safe working practices.
Immediately report serious safety, structural or quality concerns.
Monitor protection of the existing building and surrounding areas during construction.
Prepare snag lists and follow up completion before handover.
Assist with project closeout and handover documentation.
