Job Context:
∎ Position Summary: Program Manager-Education Curriculum and Contents of Play to Learn Project, Bangladesh will work under the Content pillar of the project, both print and AV contents. S/he will be responsible for managing the PtL contents development, illustration, printing, production,distribution, communication with Content using partners. S/he will work closely with the education technical team of SW NY and BRAC. Detailed work includes review of the curriculum to support content integration, selection of contents theme, hiring writers and illustrators, review and editing of the texts, illustrations, rough cuts, field testing and contextualization of the draft content and supervision of printing, approval of machine proofs, providing input on budgets and workplans as they relate to content, distribution of the contents and support and follow-up of project implementation as it relates to education technical areas. Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director-PtL h/her main points of contact will be BRAC, IRC, all content using partners, SWB technical team, production/printing houses, and SWNY Education/production counterparts.
∎ Reports to: The Manager will be reporting to the Director-Humanitarian Programs, Bangladesh, and closely working with the Deputy Director- PtL and New York-based team
∎ Position base: This is a Dhaka based position with 30% approx. field visit as and when required by the project.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Area 1: Program development and Planning
∎ Develop both print and A/V Content development/production overall plan and annual plan with NY counterpart and prepare detailed plans for Bangladesh operation
∎ Collect required numbers from the implementing partners and develop annual printing and distribution plan and update quarterly.
∎ Prepare budget, projections and expenditure tracking of content budget lines.
∎ Support other planning e.g program DIP/Activity plan/Gantt chart/reporting plan/MEL plan .
∎ Contribute to developing new interventions and pilots by supporting the integration of content into these interventions. Content may include WPL, ECD Home kits and other ECD and Child Protection resources.
∎ Support direct implementation activities like Community event, WPL pilots, ECD Home kit pilots.
∎ Supporting reporting on activities to Director-Humanitarian Programs and NY-based team
∎ Key Area 2: Contents and Models development/ Co-creation
∎ Work throughout the content development process and lead/contribute to in the content development processes in collaboration with BRAC, IRC and SWNY that includes curriculum, theme, story line and text review, illustration review, rough-cut review, consolidate feedbacks and share feedbacks.
∎ Ensure quality and timely production of the contents and materials as laid out in the Content development plan.
∎ Work with illustrators to ensure quality and relevant illustration
∎ Contribute to program intervention models review process for further development.
∎ Contribute to play based ECD curriculum revision of the intervention models through integrating Sesame Workshop's innovative contents.
∎ Key Area 3: Contents printing, AV production and distribution
∎ Initiate content printing (posters, storybooks, flip charts etc.) process: PR submission, printing supervision, translation, proof editing, involve, and so on.
∎ Initiate AV contents reproduction for distribution
∎ Manage distribution of all contents as per plan and requirements of the IPs.
∎ Communicate with the content using partners for their needs and distribute accordingly. reporting and follow-up of use
∎ Manage stock of the contents.
∎ Key area 4: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
∎ Visit implementation sites and capture and share learnings especially in use of contents and its impact.
∎ Ensure reporting and compilation of partners reports of content uses.
∎ Formative research(field testing)of all contents (prepare RFP, tools review, follow-up with consultants)
∎ Support PtL research and evaluation activities when required
∎ Key area 5: Others (Admin and Logistics)
∎ Support hiring of Translators and illustrators and other consultants.
∎ Coordinate with Translators, Illustrators, and other consultants to ensure timely and quality production of deliverables.
∎ Organize meetings, workshops, trainings, and events as required.
∎ Support in organizing field trips and manage visitors.
∎ Any other program relevant tasks agreed with the Supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 8 years' experience in Education/ECD Curriculum/content development, printing, and distribution. Published contents and program documents will be an added value.
∎ Knowledge of ECD scenario in the camps, ECD curriculum and content development and publication processes.
∎ Story writing, editing, proof reading, and Av contents editing skills
∎ Excellent inter-personal communication skills
∎ Good MS Office operating skills including using of publisher software
∎ Good planning and coordination skills.
∎ Publications for children and/or teachers
∎ Experience of working in partnership with NGOs
∎ Advance editing and publication skills.
∎ Manage multiple priorities and workload.
∎ Good in teamwork
