∎ • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, along with leadership abilities.

∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples' centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ As partnership with HEKS/EPER, ESDO is implementing the “Thriving through Equity, Economic Empowerment and Climate Resilience (THRIVE)” project at Thakurgaon and Dinajpur District. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
∎ Job Responsibilities:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO), as a local implementing partner of this activity, is hiring an Accounts and Admin Officer. The Accounts and Admin Officer will manage the financial and administrative activities of THRIVE Project under ESDO. Under the guidance of the Project Coordinator, S/he will work closely with the project team on financial planning, fund management, HR and procurement planning, capacity building, periodic reporting, audits, and evaluations The Accounts and Admin Officer will ensure compliance with donor, government, and organizational regulations. Additionally, S/he will troubleshoot field-related issues and serve as a technical expert in finance and compliance, providing capacity-building support to staff. Key responsibilities include:
∎ • Maintain books of accounts, verify bills, prepare vouchers, and promptly post entries in the software.
∎ • Act as the primary contact for financial issues related to the project.
∎ • Assist the project management team in preparing the annual budget and budget narrative.
∎ • Oversee the project’s financial operations, including budgeting, recruiting, training, and conducting regular financial assessments.
∎ • Provide financial advice to project team members and senior management.
∎ • Ensure accurate submission of financial documents, recommend fund releases, and adjust expenses as necessary.
∎ • Prepare financial forecasts with program support, track budget versus expenses, and update the program accordingly.
∎ • Facilitate audits and address findings and recommendations.
∎ • Review and monitor the financial and procurement operations for compliance.
∎ • Track operational and activity-related expenses, ensuring timely payments to consultants, vendors, and service providers.
∎ • Ensure compliance with VAT and tax regulations.
∎ • Collaborate with the HR department and manage the necessary documentation.
∎ • Maintain records such as leave registers, movement registers, office agreements, and other related documents.
∎ • Provide capacity development training and guidance to project staff on financial and administrative issues.
∎ • Establish and implement a standard approach for preventing, controlling, and reporting fraud and corruption.
∎ • Execute the project closing plan according to donor requirements and on time.
∎ • Ensure compliance in the procurement process for project goods and services.
∎ • Prepare and maintain inventory tracking records.
∎ • Ensure the timely availability of stationery, materials, and supplies for training and activities.
∎ • Develop an inventory disposition plan during project close-out as per donor requirements.
∎ • Maintain effective communication with key personnel from the donor organization.
∎ • Communicate effectively with project staff and various departments within ESDO.
∎ • Be prepared to work in any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in Bangladesh.
∎ • Perform additional duties as appropriate to the role holder’s skills and experience assigned by the organization.
