The 360-Degree NCD Care Initiative is a collaborative effort by BRAC, in partnership with the Government of Bangladesh and Medtronic LABS, to address the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases. The project focuses on prevention, early detection, and management of hypertension and type-2 diabetes through a community-centred approach, leveraging digital solutions, BRAC’s community health worker network, and strengthened public healthcare systems to improve patient outcomes.

Job Purpose

The position is responsible to design, implement, and monitor Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategies to promote noncommunicable diseases (NCD) prevention and healthy lifestyle practices at community and facility levels. This is a contractual position initially for one year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and optimization of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategies for noncommunicable diseases (NCD) prevention and control, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and community contexts.

  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance to SBCC activities implemented by the teams, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness of messaging.

  • Guide and supervise formative assessments, audience segmentation, and behaviour analysis to identify key barriers and enablers, and translate insights into actionable SBCC strategies and tools.

  • Support large-scale community engagement approaches, including campaigns, dialogues, and multi-stakeholder outreach initiatives, with a focus on sustainability and scale.

  • Build institutional SBCC capacity by designing training modules, mentoring senior field staff, and strengthening supervisory and coaching systems.

  • Establish SBCC monitoring, learning and documentation mechanisms, including outcome tracking, community feedback loops, and synthesis of lessons learned and best practices.

  • Coordinate with government counterparts and partner organizations to harmonize SBCC messaging, avoid duplication, and strengthen integrated community outreach.

  • Ensure all messages are aligned with national NCD guidelines and public health communication standards.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
