Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Reporting to PC, Coordinator - Finance & Accounts. And ensure required reporting to donor.
∎ Support to maintain the accounts of the project for all financial activities including the maintenance of financial records, preparation of all statements, balance sheet and audit including manage administrative issue.
∎ Maintain Cash and Bank Book, Petty Cash and General Ledger.
∎ Prepare monthly financial statements/report according to the donor’s requirement and monthly budget analysis.
∎ Assist the supervisor in preparing annual and semi-annual budgets.
∎ Prepare periodic cash call and submit to donor as per program requirement.
∎ Ensure the organization and donor’s compliance before making payments.
∎ Prepare requisition and maintain stock register for purchase of stationeries, supplies etc.
∎ Comply with Donor and GoB compliance before making any payments.
∎ Prepare vouchers after obtaining the approval from relevant authority with adequate supporting documentation.
∎ Ensure Vat and Tax calculation/ deduction following govt. policy and deposit to treasury trough Chalan within the stipulated time.
∎ Keep separate files updated for VAT & Tax payment records
∎ Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/management
∎ Rupantar, a development organization has been working in Democracy & Political empowerment, Environment, Disaster Management & Climate Change adaptation, Peace & Tolerance, Children & Youth Rights and Popular Media & Folk Theatre. Rupantar is now inviting applications from suitable experienced and interested candidate to work for filling up the following job vacancies to work in a counter trafficking focused project supported by Winrock International dealing with Counter Trafficking and Safe Migration based in Jashore District.
∎ Project background: Ashshash (Phase–II), is funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh. The main objective of the project is to ensure that “women and men who have escaped trafficking will restore their dignity and wellbeing and become self-sufficient”. The survivors will be provided psychosocial counseling support along with other social services and facilitated opportunities for skills-devolvement and entrepreneurship training. Upon completion of the training survivors will be placed in either wage-based and or self-employment. Furthermore, Ashshash will reach people in the project’s working areas; either directly or indirectly, through awareness-raising activities on factors that make people vulnerable to human trafficking, and to ensure the prevention of human trafficking. The four-year-long second phase of Ashshash will provide comprehensive and personalized packages of service-provision to the survivors of human trafficking in Bangladesh.

∎ Position Summary: The Finance Officer will be responsible for financial related all matters. S/he will be responsible to maintain the Finance and Accounts related activities. S/he will work with close liaison with respective colleague in the Head office and others related to the project. He is responsible for the overall Financial, accounting and administrative for the project and working under guidance of Project coordinator and Coordinator-Finance & Accounts. He is also responsible for all financial and program activities of the project including the maintenance of financial records, preparation of all statements, balance sheet, audit as well as keeping all program files, records, office documents etc
