Reporting Lines
The Data Collector – DIEM Survey (SC1) will support field data collection and monitoring under the supervision of the Natural Resources Socioeconomic Specialist and overall guidance of the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme).
Technical Focus
The position focuses on coordinating and supervising field data collection activities while ensuring strict adherence to project protocols and quality standards. The incumbent will be responsible for organizing and guiding enumerator training, overseeing the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data, and ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of all data and reports.
Tasks and responsibilities
Field Oversight & Support
Attend and actively participate in training sessions prior to fieldwork.
Organize and oversee enumerator participation and training engagement.
Guide enumerators in gathering baseline and monitoring data.
Monitor project activities through regular field visits and ensure adherence to protocols.
Data Collection & Quality Control
Supervise the collection of qualitative and quantitative data, including post-distribution and post-training assessments.
Collect agricultural market information as needed and directed.
Review data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before submission.
Documentation & Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely submission of completed questionnaires, field notes, and other data collection tools.
Maintain organized records of all field activities, including attendance, training logs, and consultation summaries.
Prepare periodic progress reports summarizing field findings, challenges, and recommendations.
Support the documentation of community consultations, stakeholder meetings, and training sessions.
Contribute to the development of input/material distribution plans and document implementation processes.
Ensure proper archiving of all project-related documents, both physical and digital.
Accountability to Affected People (AAP)
Inform beneficiaries about the AAP message and feedback mechanisms.
Ensure all complaints and feedback from beneficiaries are properly recorded, addressed, and responded to in a timely manner.
Support & Logistics
Facilitate and/or support trainings, capacity-building activities, and learning events.
Coordinate with field teams to ensure smooth implementation of activities.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or project lead.
