Responsibilities & Context:

Job Overview

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company`s procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality supply of goods and services. This position requires strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain management. The Procurement Manager will work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a database of qualified vendors.

Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms of service to secure the best possible deals.

  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality standards and reliability.

Cost Management:

  • Ensure cost-effectiveness by analyzing price trends and purchasing patterns, achieving budgeted cost savings and maintaining cost efficiency.

  • Develop policies for controlling procurement costs and reducing unnecessary expenditures.

Inventory Control:

  • Coordinate with the inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations.

  • Implement inventory control systems to manage material availability efficiently.

Contract & Compliance Management:

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal guidelines, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.

Risk Management:

  • Identify risks within the procurement process and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage supply chain risks related to demand, availability, and pricing.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement processes and generate reports for senior management.

  • Analyze procurement data to identify areas for process improvements and make data-driven decisions.
