Job Overview
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company`s procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality supply of goods and services. This position requires strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain management. The Procurement Manager will work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement a procurement strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a database of qualified vendors.
Vendor Management:
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms of service to secure the best possible deals.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality standards and reliability.
Cost Management:
Ensure cost-effectiveness by analyzing price trends and purchasing patterns, achieving budgeted cost savings and maintaining cost efficiency.
Develop policies for controlling procurement costs and reducing unnecessary expenditures.
Inventory Control:
Coordinate with the inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Implement inventory control systems to manage material availability efficiently.
Contract & Compliance Management:
Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal guidelines, ethical standards, and relevant regulations.
Risk Management:
Identify risks within the procurement process and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Work with cross-functional teams to manage supply chain risks related to demand, availability, and pricing.
Reporting & Analysis:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement processes and generate reports for senior management.
Analyze procurement data to identify areas for process improvements and make data-driven decisions.
