Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plant start-up and shutdowns.
∎ Process optimization and troubleshooting.
∎ Calibrating and operating high precision analyzers.
∎ Set up, operate, or tend continuous flow equipment's; filter presses, shaker screens, centrifuges, condenser tubes, precipitating, fermenting, or evaporating tanks, scrubbing towers. These machines extract, sort, or separate liquids, gases, or solids from other materials to recover a refined product. Includes dairy processing equipment operators.
∎ Implementing established quality standards including ISO, FDA.
∎ Assisting routine maintenance work on process equipment.
∎ Support and execute site policies and regulations.
∎ Turns control valves and observe recording instruments and gauges to attain temperatures, material flow rate, pressure, or vacuum specified for distillation of designated product.
∎ Inspect total amount of oil in storage tanks; ensure safety of distillation activities; ensure compliance to legal regulations.
∎ Analyze oil samples in order to determine characteristics such as consistency, texture, viscosity or concentration. Operate measuring instruments such as pH meters, hydrometers and viscometers.
∎ Identify and report problems or potential hazards by monitoring instruments, indicators and meters. Inspect pipelines; lubricate valves or tighten connections if necessary.
∎ Prepare specific volumes of refined and unrefined materials for storage; transfer materials that require further processing.
∎ Organize and classify records of prepared reports and correspondence related to the performed work and progress records of tasks.
∎ Clean and sterilize tanks, inflow pipes and production areas; use tools such as scraper, hose and brush; handle chemical solutions.
∎ Operate control panels and other distillation equipment, in order to monitor and adjust product flow, pressure, temperature, etc.
∎ Ensure that incoming and outgoing materials circulate through correct meters; ensure that meters work properly.
∎ Manipulate equipment controls to produce required volumes and required product quality. Take into account lab recommendations, schedules and test results.
∎ May compute variances between laboratory analysis and product specifications, using prescribed formula to determine temperature and flow-rate adjustments.
