Responsibilities & Context:

• Operate assigned production equipment and machinery as per approved SOPs, work instructions and production plans.

• Monitor the production process and machine operating parameters to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation.

• Assist in the operation and monitoring of relevant salt processing activities including washing, crushing, drying, iodization and packaging operations as applicable to the assigned production area.

• Check and maintain required process parameters and other specified operating conditions as instructed.

• Identify abnormal machine conditions, process deviations, product abnormalities or equipment faults and immediately report them to the the line manager efficiently.

• Make minor machine/process adjustments within authorized limits to maintain optimum production efficiency and product quality.

• Ensure production output meets the required quantity, quality and production schedule.

• Maintain proper records of production output, machine parameters, downtime, material consumption and other shift-related information.

• Coordinate with Quality Assurance/QC, Engineering, Warehouse and other relevant departments whenever required for smooth production operation.

• Follow GMP, food-safety requirements, workplace safety rules and all applicable factory procedures while performing assigned duties.

• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the assigned production area and equipment in accordance with 5S/GMP requirements.

• Ensure proper handling of raw materials, packaging materials and finished products to prevent contamination, wastage or damage.

• Perform proper shift handover by communicating machine status, production performance, abnormalities, pending activities and other relevant information to the incoming operator.

• Participate in machine cleaning, changeover and basic preventive maintenance activities as instructed.
