Experience:
B.Sc. in Textile Engineering (Major in Wet Processing, Dyeing Engineering, or equivalent) from a reputed university.
M.Sc. in Textile Engineering or MBA will be considered an added advantage.
Experience in a large-scale knit textile manufacturing and dyeing operation is mandatory.
Hands-on experience with reactive, disperse, cationic, sulfur, vat, pigment, and specialty dyeing processes.
Experience in handling buyer-specific shade development and laboratory management for internationally renowned brands.
Strong knowledge of:
Textile chemistry and color science.
Dyeing processes for cotton, polyester, CVC, TC, viscose, modal, lyocell, nylon, and blended fabrics.
Dye and chemical selection, compatibility, and optimization.
Shade development and color matching techniques.
Dyeing recipe formulation and optimization.
Lab-to-bulk shade reproducibility.
Right First Time (RFT) improvement initiatives.
Color fastness requirements and international testing standards.
Laboratory instruments including spectrophotometer, color matching software, laboratory dyeing machines, dispensing systems, drying ovens, and color assessment cabinets.
Lead and manage a team of lab technicians responsible for dyeing experiments and color matching.
Develop and implement dyeing procedures and protocols to ensure consistent and high-quality results.
Oversee the testing of dye formulations and evaluate their performance on various fabrics.
Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new dye formulations and processes.
Monitor and optimize dyeing parameters to achieve desired colorfastness, color consistency, and fabric quality.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the handling and disposal of chemicals.
Maintain accurate records of dyeing experiments, formulations, and results.
Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the dyeing process and implement corrective actions.
Train and mentor lab technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Stay updated on the latest developments in dyeing technology and techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
