Experience:
B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) from a reputed university.
Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in Energy Management, Industrial Utilities, or Maintenance Engineering will be considered an added advantage.
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in Electrical & Mechanical Utility operations in a large-scale Textile & RMG manufacturing environment.
Sound knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, including HT/LT substations, transformers, generators, switchgears, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, motors, PLCs, and industrial automation.
Strong understanding of mechanical utility systems, including boilers, thermic fluid heaters, steam distribution, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, HVAC systems, firefighting systems, ETP, WTP, and compressed air networks.
Practical experience in preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical and mechanical utility equipment.
Knowledge of energy management, utility optimization, power factor improvement, steam efficiency, compressed air management, water conservation, and cost reduction initiatives.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment to minimize production downtime.
Familiarity with utility requirements for spinning, knitting, dyeing, finishing, washing, printing, and garment manufacturing operations.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, mechanical layouts, P&IDs, single-line diagrams (SLD), and equipment manuals.
Knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and Building Management Systems (BMS) will be considered an added advantage.
Job Purpose
To ensure the uninterrupted, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical and mechanical utility systems supporting Textile & RMG manufacturing operations by maintaining optimum performance of power distribution, boilers, generators, compressors, chillers, HVAC, ETP, WTP, and other utility facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime, optimizing energy consumption, ensuring statutory and buyer compliance, and providing reliable utility support to achieve continuous production, operational excellence, and cost-effective plant performance.
Responsibilities & Context
1. Electrical & Utility Operations
Ensure uninterrupted operation of all electrical and utility systems to support continuous production in Textile and RMG manufacturing units.
Monitor and maintain utility equipment including boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, generators, transformers, substations, HT/LT distribution systems, ETP, WTP, and HVAC systems.
Ensure continuous and reliable supply of electricity, steam, compressed air, chilled water, and process water to all production departments.
Monitor utility consumption and operating parameters to optimize equipment efficiency and reduce production interruptions.
Respond promptly to utility or electrical failures to minimize production downtime.
2. Electrical Maintenance
Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical and utility equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan.
Troubleshoot electrical systems including transformers, switchgears, MCCs, PCCs, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and electrical distribution networks.
Coordinate emergency maintenance activities to ensure minimum disruption to production operations.
Maintain equipment history, maintenance records, and breakdown reports for continuous improvement.
Ensure availability of critical electrical and utility spare parts through effective inventory coordination.
3. Utility Management & Energy Efficiency
Monitor consumption of electricity, steam, water, compressed air, diesel, and natural gas to ensure optimum utilization.
Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities across utility operations without compromising production requirements.
Monitor boiler efficiency, compressor performance, chiller efficiency, and generator performance to reduce utility costs.
Support factory initiatives related to sustainability, energy conservation, and resource optimization.
4. Safety, Compliance & Environmental Management
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, fire safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
Follow and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work (PTW), PPE usage, and other safe work practices.
Support compliance with Accord/RSC, buyer requirements, ISO standards, and environmental regulations related to utility operations.
Participate in safety inspections, audits, and corrective action implementation.
5. Production Support & Coordination
Coordinate closely with Production, Maintenance, Mechanical, IE, and Engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted factory operations.
Provide technical support during machine installation, commissioning, capacity expansion, and utility modification projects.
Assist in resolving utility-related production bottlenecks affecting spinning, knitting, dyeing, finishing, washing, and garment manufacturing operations.
Support factory shutdown and annual maintenance activities as required.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily logs of electrical and utility operations, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
Prepare reports on energy consumption, utility efficiency, equipment breakdowns, and maintenance activities.
Analyze recurring failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability.
Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Department Head or Management.
