∎ Strong leadership and project management capabilities
∎ Advanced understanding of garment accessory development processes
∎ Buyer negotiation and relationship management
∎ Deep knowledge of global compliance and technical standards
∎ High proficiency in product costing, BOM preparation, and vendor negotiation
∎ Strategic thinking with a hands-on problem-solving attitude

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle—from concept initiation to final approval—ensuring alignment with organizational growth objectives.
∎ Formulate and drive strategic roadmaps for new accessory lines based on comprehensive market intelligence, buyer demand forecasts, and technological trends.
∎ Identify and exploit market gaps by championing innovative accessory solutions that give a competitive edge in global fashion and apparel markets.
∎ Direct and mentor multifunctional teams including product designers, sample developers, material technologists, and merchandising coordinators.
∎ Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics across teams to ensure development goals are met with efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
∎ Facilitate seamless collaboration between R&D, merchandising, QA, sourcing, and production units to streamline product introduction and reduce time-to-market.
∎ Serve as the primary interface with key buyers, brands, and retail clients to translate their technical requirements and design concepts into viable, high-quality accessories.
∎ Deliver timely and impactful product presentations, ensuring client satisfaction and securing development approvals for mass production.
∎ Lead product customization efforts to meet unique buyer branding and compliance needs.
∎ Oversee detailed cost engineering of each developed item, optimizing material usage, production processes, and vendor sourcing to ensure profitability.
∎ Negotiate pricing structures with suppliers while maintaining high product standards, ensuring competitive pricing for global clients.
∎ Drive supplier evaluation, development, and relationship management to ensure reliable sourcing of sustainable, innovative, and compliant raw materials.
∎ Constantly scout and validate new materials, techniques, and accessory technologies from local and international sources.
∎ Lead the integration of robust quality assurance protocols at the design and development stages, minimizing rework and defects post-approval.
∎ Ensure all products adhere to regional and international compliance standards (OEKO-TEX, REACH, CPSIA, etc.) relevant to the buyer’s geography.
∎ Maintain detailed technical files, costing sheets, BOMs, timelines, and buyer communications for every product.
∎ Analyze product development metrics and prepare comprehensive reports for executive leadership, providing insights for decision-making and strategy shifts.
∎ Foster a culture of continuous innovation through regular training, research initiatives, and product benchmarking.
∎ Monitor competitor products and evolving fashion trends to ensure the accessory portfolio remains cutting-edge and trend-aligned.
∎ Proactively identify potential development roadblocks (material delays, quality issues, buyer changes) and implement contingency plans to maintain delivery commitments.
∎ Resolve cross-departmental conflicts with authority and solution-oriented leadership.
∎ Any other tasks by management.
∎ The Manager - Product Development is responsible for leading and managing the full product development cycle of garment Accessories, from concept creation to final buyer approval. This role ensures the development of innovative market-driven and cost-effective products aligned with global standards and buyer specifications, working with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality products on time.
