Experience Requirements:
∎ 9 to 12 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Put all KDS UK designs into work and interpret correctly. Suggest alternatives and alterations where needed.
∎ Ensuring KDS UK design requested designs meet required deadlines.
∎ Work on versions of bought samples that have been sent by KDS UK or customers, ensuring that the samples are fitting within the specific customer price range and that appropriate changes have been made.
∎ Work alongside merchandise teams and give them direction in order to improve our overall sample hit rate for all customers.
∎ Act as a point of sample approval manager for the merchandising team, but also if required, get involved early on in the pd stages to ensure correct colours/fabrics/trims are being used.
∎ Suggest fabrics, trims and colours to ensure our sample submissions are as perfect as possible and matches the customers requirement.
∎ Work alongside KDS textile in order to develop new fabrics every season. Give them direction with the help of KDS UK on what fabric trends are coming through and develop accordingly.
∎ Work with all our textile partners/mills and source new fabrics that are coming through in the market. Be aware and have a clear understanding of what fits into our customers price point.
∎ Have an excellent understanding of kds customer base, what their ranges are like, level of fashionability, what their prices points are and what they source from KDS.
∎ Seek to expand our customers offers by exploring additional product opportunities and working of new products alongside KDS UK in order to develop these and increase our business levels.
∎ Create tech packs for the sample room from KDS UK designs.
∎ Assist with designs and help with design amends.
∎ Source and develop new trims and suggest to KDS UK and merchandising team.
∎ Be aware of changing and emerging trends across all our product categories: menswear, ladies wear, children swear, sleepwear, swimwear and active wear.
∎ Suggest and develop new wash techniques alongside our wash plant. Be aware of what can be done in house and what requires outsourcing.
∎ Overall: be aware what can be done in house and what requires outsourcing.
∎ Develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers at all levels.
∎ Attend customer meetings where required and drive the PD part in these.
∎ Be responsible for the showroom looking presentable and ensuring that our best product and newest product development is available for meetings.
∎ Suggest and put forward ideas as to how the look of the showroom can improve and look more modern.
∎ You may need to attend fit sessions where your eye will be required to judge weather or not a sample has been interpreted correctly from a design.
∎ Ensure our product development is of the right quality and to the customers standards and requirements.
∎ Keeping your uk manager up to date with your workload as often as required.
∎ Attend customer meeting and present trends/fabrics/samples.
∎ Source new fabrications, find new mills and trims suppliers.
∎ Design and develop your own ranges in line with customer requirements.
∎ Undertake overseas travel where required, representing KDS and deputizing for design director.
∎ Identify best presentation tools for our customer and direct/engage the team accordingly.
∎ Seasonally: identify fabric, trim and new print techniques and put into presentation format.
∎ Promote collaboration, communication, and teamwork within the brand between merchandising, product development, sample unit, textile, print & embroidery and design.
∎ Performance manage the PD team: identify and implement any training needs for direct team. Identify poor performance and set action plan for improvement. Reward and promote consistent growth and outstanding performance.
∎ Identify any recruitment needs and recruit accordingly.
∎ Support any design and development needs as required by management: non- garment related.
∎ Assist in company growth and strategy by consistently challenging ways of working and sharing ideas.
∎ Identifying any marketing or packaging needs: improvements and updates.
∎ Drive and motivate the PD team.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 45 years
∎ Advance level of communication is required to communicate regularly with the UK Design Director and her team along with overseas customers.
∎ Open to travel - Local and Abroad.
∎ Sound Knowledge in Fabrics, Print and Embellishment techniques.
∎ Up-to-date with current trend and business changes.
∎ Advanced Leadership skills.
∎ Expert level user of Graphic software/s.
