Experience:
Minimum 07-10 years of experience in Import/Commercial functions within the RMG.
Minimum 2/3 years’ experience as a Asst. Manager/Manager in relevant field.
Additional requirement:
Maximum 40 years
In-depth knowledge of import-export regulations in Bangladesh.
Strong understanding of RMG materials, HS codes, and customs procedures.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Good communication skill in both English and Bangla.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems

Key Responsibilities
Import Operations
Plan, execute, and monitor all import activities for fabrics, trims, accessories, chemicals, spare parts, and machinery.
Prepare and process import documents including L/C opening, amendment, shipping documents, and customs clearance papers.
Ensure timely receipt of imported materials to support uninterrupted production schedules.
L/C & Banking Coordination
Open and manage import L/Cs in coordination with banks, suppliers, and internal finance teams.
Monitor L/C utilization, maturity, payments, and settlements.
Handle discrepancies in shipping documents and coordinate with banks and suppliers for resolution.
Customs, Bond & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Customs Act, bonded warehouse regulations, and BGMEA/EPB guidelines.
Maintain proper records for bond license, UD, UP, and import registers.
Coordinate with customs clearing & forwarding (C&F) agents for smooth clearance of goods.
Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination
Communicate with overseas suppliers regarding shipment schedules, documentation, and delivery issues.
Coordinate with merchandising, production, planning, and finance teams for accurate material forecasting.
Liaise with government authorities, banks, freight forwarders, and shipping lines as required.
Cost Control & Optimization
Monitor import costs including freight, insurance, duties, and handling charges.
Identify opportunities to reduce lead time and optimize import-related expenses.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare regular import status reports for management.
Maintain accurate records of import transactions, L/C files, and compliance documents.
Support internal and external audits related to import and bonded warehouse activities.
