The candidate will ensure operational efficiency, proper maintenance, and ethical management of the mechanics team, while implementing structured record-keeping and preventive maintenance systems.

Location: Mainly in Narayanganj EPZ, Dhaka (Head Office) with responsibilities covering factory operations in Chittgong as well
Reports to: Senior Management / Head of Production
Direct Reports: Assistant Manager – Mechanics, Supervisors, Senior Mechanics, and Operators
Reporting directly to Senior Management, the Manager – Mechanics Section will lead a team of 20+ mechanics, ensuring smooth operations of all factory machinery, proper preventive maintenance, and accurate record-keeping. The candidate will establish structured maintenance protocols, supervise machine utilization, and enforce compliance with production, safety, and buyer standards. Ethical leadership, strong technical knowledge, and operational discipline are essential.
Machinery & Technical Operations
Lead and manage all factory machinery maintenance including sewing, finishing, cutting, and printing machines
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshoot breakdowns efficiently
Maintain proper calibration, operation, and utilization of machinery
Oversee spare parts inventory, procurement, and usage
Organization, Record-Keeping & Process Control
Ensure structured logbook maintenance and machine history tracking
Digitize reporting systems where possible to improve transparency and accountability
Monitor mechanical operations to prevent misuse or unethical practices
Team Leadership & People Management
Manage a team of 20+ including assistant managers, supervisors, and mechanics
Guide the second-in-command manager to ensure team reliability and discipline
Train staff in machine handling, safety, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
Foster a culture of ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement
Maintain a balanced leadership style: firm in discipline, approachable with staff
Compliance & Standards
Ensure full compliance with buyer audits, social standards, and safety protocols
Enforce 5S, Lean, and Kaizen principles in the mechanics section
Conduct periodic checks to maintain machinery and workplace safety standards
Planning & Coordination
Collaborate with Production, QA, and Planning teams to ensure seamless operations
Forecast manpower and skill requirements for machine replacement or expansion
Develop cost-effective and efficient maintenance strategies
Reporting & Accountability
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on machine performance, downtime, and maintenance
Ensure transparency and ethical record-keeping in all departmental operations
