• Strong knowledge of knit product development & babywear

• Expertise in Illustrator & Photoshop

• Knowledge of 3D design (CLO/Browzwear) will be an advantage

• Strong leadership & communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Willing to visit factory & market regularly

Job Context

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Design to lead our design team. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in knit garments, especially babywear, and be highly familiar with requirements of world-renowned international buyers.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall design function for knit products

• Develop buyer-focused collections based on global fashion trends

• Prepare mood boards, tech packs, and design concepts

• Handle design development for babywear (0–24 months / Boys & Girls wear & Adults) ensuring safety & compliance

• Work closely with buyers, merchandising, and production teams

• Supervise sampling, fitting, and bulk production follow-up

• Ensure all designs meet international quality and buyer standards

Additional Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth trend research, market analysis, and competitor benchmarking

• Lead seasonal range planning and product line development

• Ensure proper fabric, yarn, trims, and print/embellishment selection suitable for babywear safety standards

• Drive innovation in knit fabrics, wash techniques, and value engineering

• Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, and sample developments

• Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, testing standards, and sustainability guidelines

• Coordinate closely with sourcing and R&D teams for new developments

• Monitor and control design timelines and critical path to meet shipment deadlines

• Provide technical guidance on pattern, fit, grading, and construction issues

• Support merchandising team during costing and product feasibility analysis

• Lead buyer meetings, presentations, and design discussions

• Develop and mentor design team members to enhance performance and creativity

• Ensure smooth handover from design to production with clear documentation

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in design workflow
