The candidate should have strong technical skills in marine diesel engine troubleshooting, engine overhaul and repair, marine propulsion systems, waterjet systems, mechanical fault diagnosis, preventive and corrective maintenance, testing, commissioning, technical inspection and reporting. The candidate must also possess strong team leadership, manpower planning, project coordination, maintenance planning, resource management, vendor/subcontractor coordination, problem-solving and emergency maintenance management capabilities. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla are required, along with the ability to prepare professional technical reports and working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. Strong client and stakeholder coordination skills are essential. The candidate should be capable of independently identifying technical problems and recommending practical solutions, working effectively under pressure and meeting strict project deadlines. Willingness to work in challenging vessel, shipyard and project-site environments is required, and the candidate must be physically capable of attending vessel inspections, engine rooms, workshops and remote project locations. Willingness to travel frequently and stay at project locations anywhere in Bangladesh is mandatory. A valid driving licence will be considered an advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience as a Marine Maintenance Manager, Marine Engineer, Technical Superintendent, Marine Service Engineer, Marine Workshop Manager, Ship Repair Engineer, Marine Mechanical Engineer or Senior Marine Technician/Supervisor. Candidates with strong hands-on field experience, marine engine overhaul expertise and previous exposure to Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Coast Guard or Government vessel projects will be highly prioritized.
PENINSULA MARINE SERVICES is seeking an experienced and technically competent Maintenance Manager – Marine & Naval Projects to lead and supervise marine engine, propulsion, waterjet and mechanical maintenance activities for Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Coast Guard, Government and commercial vessel projects.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing vessel maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, testing and commissioning activities. The position requires strong hands-on knowledge of marine diesel engines, propulsion systems and associated mechanical/electrical systems, along with the ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Plan, supervise and execute maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of marine engines and propulsion systems.
Provide technical supervision for Cummins, Volvo Penta and similar marine diesel engines.
Diagnose and resolve fuel, cooling, lubrication, turbocharger, electrical/control and mechanical faults.
Supervise maintenance and troubleshooting of marine waterjet propulsion systems.
Coordinate major engine overhaul, top overhaul, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities.
Conduct vessel and equipment inspections and prepare technical findings, defect lists, repair recommendations and work scopes.
Prepare maintenance schedules, job plans, manpower requirements, spare-parts requirements and work procedures.
Supervise technicians, mechanics, electricians and subcontractors during project execution.
Ensure proper installation, alignment, testing, commissioning and performance verification of repaired equipment.
Provide technical support during sea trials and vessel performance testing.
Coordinate with clients, vessel engineers, Navy/Coast Guard representatives, suppliers and project management teams.
Monitor project progress and ensure maintenance activities are completed within the required schedule and quality standards.
Prepare daily, weekly and final technical/project reports.
Monitor spare parts, tools, consumables and other maintenance resources.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable HSE, quality and marine engineering practices.
Support preparation of technical quotations, proposals, BOQs, spare-parts lists and project cost estimates when required.
Handle multiple marine maintenance projects and emergency repair assignments simultaneously.
Travel frequently and stay at project locations anywhere in Bangladesh as required.
