Responsibilities & Context:

• Plan, supervise, and monitor civil construction, renovation, maintenance, and development works of BTTC facilities and training centers.

• Prepare and review drawings, layouts, estimates, specifications, work schedules, and other technical documents for civil works.

• Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, designs, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

• Monitor the progress of construction and maintenance works and ensure timely completion within approved budgets and schedules.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, technicians, and relevant departments for smooth implementation of civil works.

• Conduct site inspections and ensure proper workmanship, material quality, dimensions, levels, and structural requirements.

• Verify measurements, work completion, bills, invoices, and contractor claims before submission for approval.

• Prepare work estimates, cost calculations, material requirements, and technical reports for proposed construction and maintenance activities.

• Ensure proper use of construction materials and minimize wastage through effective site supervision and quality control.

• Monitor compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental, and construction site safety requirements.

• Identify construction defects, technical issues, and maintenance requirements and recommend appropriate corrective measures.

• Maintain proper records of construction activities, measurements, drawings, photographs, progress reports, and other project documentation.

• Support management in planning and implementing new training centers, workshops, classrooms, laboratories, hostels, and other infrastructure facilities.

• Coordinate with procurement and administration teams regarding technical specifications and requirements for construction materials, equipment, and services.

• Conduct regular inspections of BTTC buildings and facilities and recommend necessary repair, renovation, and preventive maintenance works.

• Provide technical support for government, donor-funded, and skills development projects involving construction and infrastructure development.

• Ensure that all civil works comply with applicable Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), relevant standards, and approved technical requirements.
