Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implementation UDP interventions ‘Increasing Water Security and Resilience of Low-income Climate Affected Communities in Satkhira Municipality’ project at field level as front line staff.
∎ Location selection based on physical feature (i.e., groundwater level, surface water source and water quality analysis) and community mapping data,
∎ Establish appropriate climate resilient water supply technology based on community needs to provide drinking water during dry season
∎ Establish low cost piped water supply system in selected communities to provide water for cooking and other household needs
∎ Prepare water management plan based on collected data and community consultation,
∎ Maintain documentation and prepare monthly MIS report.
∎ Organize and conduct training the local community on climate change, water security, climate adaptive water supply technology, community engagement, and maintenance of the water plants
∎ Provide support to the technical department & research, knowledge management & M&E department of UDP in the field for effective urban interventions
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ Demonstrated ability to successfully implement large scale and complex projects.
∎ Current national and global development trends related to urban poverty and urban development.
∎ Competence in analyzing the social and gender dynamics within urban set up.
∎ Community organizing and social mobilization.
∎ Excellent communication, presentation, organization and negotiation skills
∎ Skill in documentation, facilitation & reporting
∎ Strong analytical skills, be gender sensitive, and possess a proven track record of working successfully in a variety of cultural contexts
∎ Awareness of political processes and protocols
∎ Leadership and people management; Strategic thinking; and problem solving.
