  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in International Banking or Trade Finance

  • Proven track record in a mid-level role such as a Senior Officer or Manager within a reputable bank

  • Solid practical knowledge of Correspondent Banking and Trade Finance Operations

  • Technical proficiency in Nostro Account Management and SWIFT Operations

  • Strong understanding of International Banking Compliance and regulatory standards

  • Prior experience in relationship management with foreign banks or cross-border financing is an advantage

  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and detail

  • Capability to build and sustain professional relationships with international partners

  • High level of proficiency in English communication and professional report writing



Responsibilities & Context:

The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the International Division by managing correspondent relationships and executing trade finance activities. This role involves handling the technical requirements of offshore banking and ensuring that all cross-border transactions align with international standards and internal policies.

  • Support the maintenance of strong relationships with Foreign Financial Institutions and Development Finance Institutions such as the ADB or IFC.

  • Manage daily correspondence with foreign banks regarding the confirmation and discounting of Letters of Credit.

  • Assist with the arrangement of trade loans and bilateral term borrowings for Offshore Banking Units.

  • Process and supervise trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.

  • Execute Offshore Banking Unit operations and handle related international financing tasks.

  • Manage UPAS LCs and export bills while processing foreign currency term loans.

  • Reconcile Nostro Accounts and monitor all foreign currency transactions for accuracy.

  • Maintain Relationship Management Applications with correspondent banking partners.

  • Issue outward bank guarantees against standby LCs from foreign banks.

  • Perform due diligence and check international databases like the Banker’s Almanac or Lloyd’s List Intelligence to ensure compliance.

  • Prepare and distribute Foreign Exchange and International Division circulars to relevant branches.

  • Liaise with branches to resolve operational issues or payment disputes with foreign banks.

  • Conduct financial analysis and project appraisals for various international financing proposals.

  • Adhere to AML and KYC regulations while following reporting obligations for the central bank.

  • Support the implementation of Quality Management Systems to maintain operational efficiency.
