• Professional certification such as PGDSCM or CSCP will be an added advantage.

• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

• Strong knowledge of ERP, SCM software, and data-driven decision-making.

• Sound understanding of Bangladesh import/export procedures and logistics operations.

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Context:

The Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) will lead and oversee the end-to-end supply chain functions of the organization, including procurement, planning, inventory, logistics, and distribution. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery across all units of the organization.

This role demands a strong leader with strategic thinking, analytical capability, and deep knowledge of supply chain operations, capable of aligning SCM functions with the company’s overall business objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Leadership:

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals.
• Provide strategic direction to procurement, logistics, inventory, and warehouse teams.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, time, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with top management in budgeting, forecasting, and policy formulation.

Procurement Management:

• Oversee sourcing, supplier selection, and vendor negotiations to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
• Establish long-term supplier relationships and ensure supplier performance evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policy and ethical sourcing standards.
• Approve major purchase orders and contracts after technical and commercial evaluation.

Inventory & Material Management:

• Set inventory control parameters (minimum & maximum levels, reorder points).
• Ensure accurate demand forecasting to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
• Supervise warehouse operations ensuring safety, accuracy, and accountability.
• Introduce modern inventory management systems and digital tracking tools.

Logistics & Distribution:

• Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
• Optimize transport routes and warehouse locations to improve service level.
• Negotiate with logistics providers for competitive rates and efficient performance.
• Monitor transportation KPIs — lead time, freight cost, delivery accuracy.

Coordination & Compliance:

• Maintain effective coordination with production, sales, finance, and factory teams.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations, customs, and import/export requirements.
• Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks (delays, shortages, vendor issues, etc.).

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

• Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for SCM team and monitor achievement.
• Prepare periodic MIS reports on procurement cost, stock status, and logistics efficiency.
• Lead SCM team performance appraisals and capacity development.
