  • Age 40 to 50 years
  • Minimum 12 (twelve) years of relevant experience in International Banking, Trade Finance, or related areas.

  • At least 2 (two) years of experience as Head of International Division or Deputy Head of International Division in a reputed Bank.

  • Strong practical experience in Correspondent Banking, Trade Finance Operations, Nostro Account Management, SWIFT Operations, and International Banking Compliance.

  • Experience in Relationship Management with foreign banks and DFIs, Foreign Trade Business Development, and Cross-Border Financing will be given preference. 



Responsibilities & Context:

The incumbent will lead and manage the Bank’s International Division, develop and maintain strong correspondent relationships with foreign banks and financial institutions, and expand the Bank’s international trade and cross-border financing business. The role requires strategic leadership in trade finance, offshore banking operations, and international compliance.

  • Establish and maintain strong Correspondent Banking relationships with Foreign Financial Institutions (FIs) and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) such as ADB, IFC, and GCPF.

  • Maintain correspondence with foreign banks for confirmation, discounting, and refinancing of Letters of Credit (LCs).

  • Arrange and manage trade loans, placements, and bilateral term borrowings for Offshore Banking Units (OBU).

  • Manage and supervise international Trade Finance operations, including LCs, Bank Guarantees, and Standby LCs.

  • Handle Offshore Banking Operations (OBU) and related international financing activities.

  • Process UPAS LCs, export bills under OBU, foreign currency term loans, and related international trade transactions.

  • Manage and reconcile Nostro Accounts and monitor foreign currency transactions.

  • Establish, review, and maintain Relationship Management Application (RMA) with correspondent banks.

  • Issue outward bank guarantees against counter guarantees or standby LCs of foreign correspondent banks.

  • Ensure compliance with AML / KYC regulations, FATCA requirements, and Bangladesh Bank reporting obligations.

  • Maintain correspondence and due diligence with international databases such as Banker’s Almanac (LexisNexis Risk Solutions), Legal Entity Identifier (LEI), Lloyd’s List Intelligence, and Global Trade Tracker (GTT) for compliance and price verification.

  • Liaise with branches and foreign correspondent banks to resolve cross-border trade disputes, operational issues, and payment-related matters.

  • Circulate Foreign Exchange (FE) Circulars and International Division (ID) Circulars to relevant branches and departments.

  • Arrange meetings and facilitate communication between correspondent and respondent banks.

  • Conduct Financial Analysis and Project Appraisal for international financing proposals.

  • Ensure full compliance with international banking regulations, risk management standards, and operational efficiency.

  • Support implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) within the International Division, including ISO compliance where applicable.
