Responsibilities & Context:

The Head of Finishing (Denim Garment Manufacturing Company) is responsible for managing and controlling all finishing activities for denim garments to ensure on-time delivery, buyer-required quality, optimal productivity, and cost efficiency. The role ensures smooth coordination from finishing processes through packing and shipment while maintaining compliance and safety standards.

• Maintain daily finishing operations for denim garments, including finishing, ironing, tagging, packing, and dispatch.

• Ensure finishing output meets buyer specifications, wash standards, shade consistency, and quality requirements.

• Plan and control production targets in line with shipment schedules as deadline.

• Coordinate with Washing, Quality, IE, Maintenance, Merchandising, and Warehouse teams.

• Monitor and control manpower, productivity, overtime, absenteeism, and discipline in the finishing department and maintain factory KPI’s

• Identify bottlenecks in finishing lines and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of finishing and washing equipment.

• Control rework, wastage, and finishing costs.

• Ensure Social compliance with buyer, social, safety, and environmental standards (BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, RSC, CTPAT, etc.).

• Prepare and analyse daily/weekly/monthly reports on output, efficiency, rejection, and shipment status.

• Support buyer audits, PP meetings, wash approvals, and shipment handover processes.

• Train, develop, and evaluate finishing supervisors and operators.
