Responsibilities & Context:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Lead manpower planning, recruitment, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.

  • Ensure effective performance management and employee engagement programs.

  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and employee welfare activities.

  • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, buyer Codes of Conduct, and international compliance standards.

  • Lead and manage all compliance-related audits, assessments, and certifications.

  • Maintain direct communication and coordination with buyer compliance teams and external auditors.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to social compliance, sustainability, and ethical sourcing.

  • Manage and maintain all requirements related to Responsible Sourcing Compliance (RSC).

  • Lead Sedex Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQ), audits, CAP management, and follow-up activities.

  • Ensure successful completion of buyer compliance audits and remediation programs.

  • Monitor and update compliance documentation, policies, and procedures.

  • Oversee all administrative functions including security, transport, canteen, facility management, and employee services.

  • Maintain positive industrial relations and handle grievance management effectively.

  • Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders when required.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with buyer compliance, sustainability, and sourcing teams.

  • Represent the organization during buyer visits, audits, and compliance reviews.

  • Support business growth through effective compliance and customer relationship management.

Required Buyer Experience: Candidates must have direct working experience with one or more of the following international retailers/brands:

European Buyers

H&M, Inditex, Primark, Bestseller, Marks & Spencer, C&A, Sainsbury's.

Japanese Buyers

Uniqlo, MUJI.

US Buyers

Walmart, Target, Costco, PVH Corp, VF Corporation.

Academic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.

  • MBA (HR) will be highly preferred.

  • Additional professional certifications in HR, Compliance, Sustainability, or Labor Law will be an added advantage.

  • Preferred Professional Certifications / Courses.

 

Candidate should have completed one or more of the following:

  • Sedex Auditor Awareness / Sedex System Training.

  • RSC Compliance & Assessment Training.

  • Social Compliance Management Training.

  • Labor Law & Industrial Relations Training.

  • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Training.

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Awareness.

  • ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

  • Sustainability & ESG Related Training.

  • Certified HR Professional Program.

  • Workplace Investigation & Grievance Handling Training.

  • Fire Safety & Factory Compliance Management Training.

 

Experience Requirements:

  •  Minimum 15–20 years of experience in the garments/textile manufacturing industry.

  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing HR, Admin, and Compliance functions.

  • Proven experience handling factories with 20,000+ workforce.

  • Strong hands-on experience in RSC, Sedex, Social Compliance, Sustainability, and Buyer Compliance Management.

  • Direct working experience with major European, Japanese, and US apparel buyers.

  • Strong exposure to international buyer compliance requirements and social sustainability programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, auditors, and stakeholders.

  • Sustainability & ESG Awareness.

  • Negotiation & Communication Skills.

  • Crisis Management & Problem Solving.
