Experience:

Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering will add advantage.

• 2-3 years of relevant hands-on experience in marine logistics, bulk cargo handling, draft surveying, or port/Ghaat operations.

• Practical experience with stone, coal, sand, wheat, and other bulk commodities will be preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Draft Survey calculations, vessel displacement parameters, and weighbridge reconciliation.

• Sound understanding of shipping, cargo, delivery, and survey-related documentation.

• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and coordinate ghat/jetty operational teams.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to reconcile survey figures against weighbridge data and identify cargo shortages/losses.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with vessel crews, surveyors, suppliers, customers, and internal departments.

• Willingness to work in shifts and outdoor environments, including ports, jetties, and ghats, according to vessel arrival and discharge schedules.

We are seeking experienced and responsible Ghaat Supervisor to oversee Ghaat (Jetty) operations including cargo discharge, stock management at designated ghats/jetties. The position will be responsible for ensuring accurate cargo quantity, efficient lighter vessel operations, proper discharge, timely reporting, and effective coordination with operational teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the complete cargo discharge operation from lighter vessel arrival through completion of discharge.

• Manage and monitor draft survey and cargo survey operations for loaded lighter vessels.

• Monitor cargo unloading at various ghats/jetties to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient operations.

• Verify weighbridge accuracy, calibration, and weighing procedures; reconcile weighbridge quantities with survey calculations and operational records.

• Identify cargo shortages, discrepancies, or operational irregularities and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

• Lead and supervise permanent and temporary operational teams involved in unloading stone, coal, sand, wheat and other bulk cargo.

• Receive part/combined cargo through joint surveys with supplier-appointed surveyors.

• Monitor ghat stock levels and ensure product availability according to delivery requirements.

• Coordinate with Yard/Ghaat in charge, supervise helpers, loaders, and other workers to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and dispatch.

• Prepare and issue delivery and VAT challans and maintain accurate delivery and stock registers.

• Monitor the arrival of cargo vessels, including trawlers and barges, and track outbound truck movements.

• Prepare timely operational reports and coordinate with relevant departments regarding vessel, cargo, survey, stock, and delivery activities.
