About the Position

Nishi Salvage & Diving is looking for a responsible, confident and firm Field Coordinator to manage and coordinate our commercial diving teams during underwater inspection and marine diving projects.

This position is primarily a field coordination and people-management role. The successful candidate will work closely with divers, diving supervisors, boat crews and office management to ensure that diving operations are properly coordinated, disciplined and completed according to the project requirements.

The person will also be responsible for preparing underwater inspection reports, organizing inspection documentation and editing underwater photographs and videos.

We are looking for someone who can manage people firmly but professionally, handle disagreements calmly, maintain discipline and keep the field operation running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field & Diving Team Coordination — Primary Responsibility

  • Coordinate daily activities of divers, diving supervisors, boat crews and field personnel.

  • Ensure that the diving team understands the assigned scope of work and daily requirements.

  • Coordinate manpower, diving equipment, boats and other field requirements with the operations team.

  • Monitor the attendance, discipline and work performance of field personnel.

  • Ensure that instructions from management and the Diving Supervisor are properly communicated and followed.

  • Maintain a professional and respectful working environment among divers and field workers.

  • Handle disagreements, misunderstandings and conflicts between team members before they affect the diving operation.

  • Act as a communication bridge between the office, diving team, vessel crew, clients and supervisors.

  • Keep management updated about field progress, manpower issues, operational problems and delays.

  • Take immediate action on routine field coordination issues and escalate serious matters to management.

  • Ensure that unnecessary arguments, disputes or personal issues do not disrupt the project.

  • Maintain discipline while treating field workers fairly and professionally.

  • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of diving teams and equipment.

  • Travel to vessels, ports, terminals, shipyards and other project locations as required.

  • Be available outside normal office hours when required by vessel schedules or diving operations.

2. Project Monitoring & Field Reporting

  • Monitor daily progress of underwater inspection and diving activities.

  • Collect accurate information from divers and diving supervisors.

  • Maintain daily field activity records.

  • Record completed work, pending work, difficulties and important observations.

  • Communicate field updates to management on time.

  • Coordinate with vessel representatives, clients and surveyors when required.

  • Ensure that required photographs, videos and inspection information are collected during the operation.

3. Underwater Inspection Documentation

  • Prepare professional underwater inspection reports based on information collected from the diving team.

  • Organize inspection findings, photographs, videos and observations.

  • Prepare daily work reports, inspection records, checklists and other project documentation.

  • Review diver notes and underwater inspection findings for completeness.

  • Compile technical information into clear and properly formatted reports.

  • Maintain proper records for completed diving projects.

  • Ensure reports are prepared and submitted within project deadlines.

4. Underwater Photo & Video Editing

  • Review underwater inspection photographs and videos recorded during diving operations.

  • Select relevant photographs and video footage for reports.

  • Edit underwater inspection videos for client and surveyor presentation.

  • Add vessel name, inspection area, date, location, labels and other relevant information where required.

  • Organize and properly store project photos, videos and final reports.

  • Maintain an organized digital archive of completed projects.

The ability to manage people, maintain discipline and keep the diving team working together is one of the most important requirements of this position.

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Diploma/Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline.

  • Candidates with backgrounds in Marine, Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Business Administration, Management or other relevant fields are encouraged to apply.

Experience

Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:

  • Commercial diving operations

  • Marine/shipyard operations

  • Offshore or port operations

  • Ship inspection

  • Field operations

  • Construction/site supervision

  • Workforce/team coordination

  • Marine documentation

  • Underwater inspection

  • Ship repair or maintenance

Candidates without diving experience may also apply if they have strong field coordination and people-management skills.

Important Working Conditions

This is not a purely office-based position.

The selected candidate will be required to work at vessels, ports, terminals, shipyards, workshops and other diving project locations.

The candidate may occasionally need to:

  • Work early morning or late night depending on vessel schedules.

  • Work on weekends or public holidays during urgent operations.

  • Travel outside Chattogram.

  • Stay at project locations when required.

  • Work in challenging marine and weather conditions.

  • Coordinate with teams under time pressure.
