Responsibilities & Context:

Fakir Knitwears Ltd., one of Bangladesh's leading knitwear and garment manufacturing companies, is seeking a disciplined, experienced, and senior-level professional for the position of General Manager (GM), Administration at its Narayanganj facility. The incumbent will lead the entire administrative function of the group, including security, fire safety, RSC (RMG Sustainability Council) compliance, housekeeping, medical services, transport, CCTV monitoring, canteen, property management, and liaison with government and external authorities. The role calls for strong leadership, high integrity, and the ability to maintain discipline and compliance across all facilities while meeting C-TPAT, GSV, and buyer security requirements. Retired Army Officers with the rank of Major or above (Colonel preferred) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Security Management

  • Ensure overall security of the factory premises, assets, and employees.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security systems in compliance with C-TPAT, GSV, and buyer requirements.

  • Manage and monitor security personnel, security operations, and access control systems.

  • Conduct security risk assessments and provide early warning of potential threats.

  • Investigate security incidents and recommend corrective actions.

  • Maintain liaison with law enforcement agencies and other security-related authorities.

  • Ensure discipline and compliance with company security policies across all facilities.

Fire Safety

  • Develop and implement fire prevention and firefighting programs.

  • Ensure compliance with Fire Safety Regulations, Labor Law, the Fire Prevention and Firefighting Act, and buyer requirements.

  • Prepare fire prevention plans, execute them, and provide training and awareness programs.

  • Conduct fire safety operations in accordance with Labor Act requirements, Rules and Regulations, and Civil Defence requirements.

  • Conduct regular fire safety training and awareness programs for employees.

  • Maintain all fire safety equipment, records, licenses, and documentation.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure fire safety compliance.

  • Prepare and submit periodic fire safety reports to management.

RSC (RMG Sustainability Council) Compliance Management

  • Lead all RSC-related compliance activities across applicable group factories.

  • Ensure compliance with Structural Safety, Electrical Safety, and Fire Safety requirements.

  • Coordinate RSC inspections, assessments, and remediation programs.

  • Monitor CAP (Corrective Action Plan) implementation and closure.

  • Maintain all RSC-related documentation and records.

  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and compliance teams regarding RSC requirements.

  • Ensure timely submission of reports and updates to RSC authorities.

  • Monitor sustainability and workplace safety improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate RSC audits and stakeholder visits.

Housekeeping, Medical Services, and Dining / Canteen

  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and proper housekeeping standards throughout the factory, and supervise housekeeping personnel and cleaning activities.

  • Monitor workplace sanitation and waste management practices to maintain a safe, healthy, and organized working environment.

  • Manage factory medical center and clinic operations, and ensure availability of first-aid facilities and emergency medical support.

  • Coordinate with hospitals, healthcare providers, and emergency response services, and support employee health and welfare initiatives.

  • Manage employee dining and canteen operations, ensuring food quality, hygiene, safety, and employee satisfaction.

  • Supervise food vendors and catering service providers, and monitor meal distribution and employee welfare facilities.

Transport Management

  • Manage employee transportation services efficiently.

  • Ensure proper allocation, utilization, maintenance, and documentation of all company vehicles.

  • Supervise drivers, vehicle rosters, and transport logistics.

  • Monitor transport-related compliance, licenses, and records.

  • Maintain protocol transportation and transport support for management requirements.

  • Manage inter-district transportation for employees, management personnel, company officials, and business-related activities, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant service.

CCTV Monitoring

  • Manage CCTV systems and surveillance operations across all facilities.

  • Monitor security activities through surveillance systems.

  • Maintain CCTV recordings and support investigations when required.

  • Identify security risks and provide recommendations based on surveillance findings.

Gardening, Landscaping, and Pest Control

  • Maintain factory gardens, green zones, and landscaped areas, and monitor gardening and maintenance programs.

  • Ensure beautification and environmental enhancement of company premises.

  • Implement regular pest control programs, and monitor and prevent infestation by insects, rodents, and other pests.

  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and environmental standards, and coordinate with external pest control service providers when required.

Managing Director's Residence and Company Properties

  • Oversee maintenance, administration, and security of the Managing Director's residence and company-owned properties.

  • Ensure proper utility management and facility maintenance.

  • Monitor assigned land, buildings, and property-related activities.

  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, and facility improvement works.

Local Authority and External Liaison

  • Maintain effective liaison with Police Administration, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Local Government Authorities, District Administration, Labor Office and Labor Court, BGMEA, Passport Office, utility service providers, and other government and non-government agencies.

  • Conduct and coordinate Global Supply Chain Security Program (C-TPAT) audits and ensure compliance with foreign buyer security requirements.

  • Obtain and renew required licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals.

  • Coordinate compliance matters, inspections, and external audits.

  • Support company representation in official meetings and communications.

Administration Management

  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure smooth administrative support and service delivery.

  • Develop and implement administrative policies, procedures, and systems.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare the organization for external audits and inspections.

  • Develop checklists, reports, and monitoring systems related to administration, security, fire safety, housekeeping, and transport systems.

  • Monitor office facilities, maintenance activities, inventory, and administrative expenses.

  • Organize training, awareness programs, and employee development initiatives.

  • Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
