Additional Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in

  • Water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion-related works/activities

  • Experience working in a humanitarian response/FDMN context is highly preferred.

Responsibilities & Context:

The incumbent will be based in Bhashanchar.

Appropriate beneficiary and site selection according to the IR principle and guideline- 25%

  • Conduct a door-to-door household survey to identify the most vulnerable beneficiaries at Bhasanchar.

  • Conduct FGD with different stockholders and communities.

  • Organised various assessments like PDM, KAP survey, and KII as per project needs.

  • Identifying suitable sites for WASH & WASH activity implementation at Bhasanchar.

  • Ensure daily attendance for casual labour & approve.

  • volunteer in WASH & WASH activities.

  • Prepare a beneficiary list, Muster roll and distribution/handover copy etc.

  • Close communication with Majhi, community leader, SMS, health & wash actors.

  • Casual labour management for construction work.

  • To collect various eligible lists for distributing NFI & Hygiene kits.

  • Supervise the beneficiary’s identification as per the fixed selection criteria and methodology fixed by IR.

  • Select the most appropriate site for WASH infrastructure at the Bhasan Char camp.

Project intervention monitoring- 25%

  • To monitor hardware activities according to the monitoring checklist. Ensure inclusive assistance of WASH support

  • Conduct periodic water quality monitoring of the borehole water supply as well as DTW and STW.

  • Prepare individual work plans according to project activity.

  • Ensure safe disposal of faecal sludges and solid waste management at Bhasan Char.

  • Supervise construction activities at the beneficiary level.

  • Ensure PSEA, safeguarding, and CFRM in project activity implementation.

  • Prepare & follow the hardware monitoring checklist.

  • Proven capacity in construction site monitoring and quality checks. Ensure quality construction according to drawing, design, and guidelines.

  • Supervise the MRF and solid waste management work.

  • Ensure hygiene promotion works are carried out as per plan.

  • Follow the individual work plan for quality control of project activities as per the Proposal and organisational guidelines.

  • Ensure that standards and instructions are given by the line manager and Islamic Relief Bangladesh procedures.

  • Supervise and monitor each stage of the activities

Ensure the quality of construction / Installation/repair work - 25%

  • Ensure all construction works are carried out as per the BOQ and design.

  • Ensure accurate post-work measurement after the work completion.

  • Ensure accurate record keeping and systematic documentation & filing.

  • Provide information for monthly, interim and final reports

  • Maintain proper process documentation- success stories, etc.

  • Ensure compliance and record

Do effective and appropriate networking and coordination with different stakeholders- 10%

  • Assist in organising inception meetings at different levels.

  • Organise various working relationship-building orientations and training.

  • Formulation of the project implementation committee.

  • Involve project implementation teams in the implementation of the project

  • Coordination & networking with key stakeholders.

  • Participate in various personal development training, orientation and workshops.

Project reporting and documentation - 10%

  • Provide monthly activity reports to SMS, CMO, sector and other agencies.

  • Provide the necessary documents to WASH focal points, agencies, etc.

  • Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the course of the activities and suggest operational solutions.

  • Support for the Procurement of materials, like requisition, quotation collection, etc.

Others- 5%

  • Contribute to other project activities and any other tasks as required by program management.

  • Willing and able to travel frequently for extended periods and to remote areas of the project.

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation and as well as Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on the safeguarding of harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, Fraud, Bribery & Money Laundering for establishing safe working environment

  • Participate in seasonal (Ramadan, Winterisation & Qurbani) & emergency response programs if required.

  • Being a member of Islamic Relief as a child-friendly organisation, it is the core responsibility and obligation of each staff member to understand and obey IR Child Protection & PSEA Policy and respond accordingly as and when required.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.
