∎ At least 10 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and manage the product development process for “Denim Categories” from concept to production.
∎ Collaborate with design, merchandising, sourcing and production teams (internal/external) to ensure product alignment with brand vision, quality standards, cost targets and delivery timelines.
∎ Close partnership with buyers (R&D/Merch) to secure proto sampling / production transfer / scalability for US and Europe customers.
∎ Lead the R&D projects of new raw materials for the garment division to support market expansion missions in the UK & Europe markets.
∎ Research and analyze market trends, consumer needs, competitor products and industry innovations to identify new opportunities and improve existing products as well gain market shares with existing and potential new customers.
∎ Create customer centric sales collection in partnership with vendors/teams to service existing customers and increase sales with new customers.
∎ Communicate and negotiate with vendors, suppliers and factories to source materials, develop samples, resolve issues and ensure compliance with company policies and sustainability goals.
∎ Partner with vendors/teams to meet current and future sourcing needs of customer.
∎ Lead a future team of Product Development specialists to sustain business expansion in a universal environment.
∎ Develop new and improved materials and technologies with suppliers, and ensuring all new raw materials obtain proper safety testing and clearance.
∎ Provide technical support to Technical Services and Sales to address specific customer issues or information requests, and sales training.
∎ Coach and develop indirect reports to enhance future team performance towards department objectives.
∎ Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Degree in Clothing, Textile, Design or related discipline preferred.
∎ Minimum 10 years' relevant experience with at least 3 years in managerial level within the textiles/fabric/denim, industry.
∎ Experience in product development, preferable gained from apparel industry with international trade exposure.
∎ Strong denim product knowledge with good development skills, and familiar with merchandising and product development process.
∎ Strong communication skills internal/external with talent to understand customer requirements (design/production etc.)
∎ Able to work under pressure, result oriented, excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive and detail minded.
∎ Ability to build strong relationships with the team as a good team leader, communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
∎ Strong problem-solving skills. Able to manage multiple tasks environment.
∎ Excellent command of written and spoken English
∎ Literate in Microsoft office programs.
∎ Frequent travel is required.
