Strong knowledge of washing recipes, dyeing, and finishing chemicals.

Expertise in process standardization and quality control.

Sound analytical and problem-solving ability.

Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Familiarity with LEAN, 5S, and other productivity tools.

Proficient in MS Office and ERP-based production monitoring.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• On-time delivery percentage

• Shade and quality pass rate

• Rewash/rejection rate

• Cost per garment (washing)

• Energy and chemical consumption efficiency

• EHS compliance and audit score

To lead and manage the entire washing operation of knit garments, ensuring consistent quality, on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with buyers’ requirements and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning & Production Management

• Develop and execute the overall washing production plan in coordination with Production, Planning, and Merchandising teams.

• Ensure optimal machine utilization and smooth workflow to meet daily and monthly production targets.

• Monitor washing load schedules, chemical usage, and recipe optimization.

• Ensure that washing samples and bulk production meet buyer-approved standards.

2. Quality & Process Control

• Implement and maintain robust process control systems to ensure shade, hand-feel, and garment appearance consistency.

• Supervise lab dip, bulk sample, and shade matching processes.

• Ensure quality assurance standards are followed in every stage of washing.

• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues or rejections.

3. Cost & Efficiency Management

• Control operational costs by optimizing water, chemical, steam, and energy usage.

• Reduce rewash, rejection, and wastage through efficient monitoring and process improvements.

• Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives in washing operations.

4. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead a large team of washing managers, supervisors, operators, and technicians.

• Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance team capability.

• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

5. Compliance & Sustainability

• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards (EHS).

• Coordinate with compliance and sustainability teams to meet buyer and certification requirements (e.g., ZDHC, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Bluesign).

• Ensure proper wastewater management and ETP operation in coordination with the Utility team.

6. Innovation & Development

• Collaborate with R&D and merchandising teams for new washing effects, fashion finishes, and eco-friendly chemical applications.

• Evaluate and introduce new washing technologies and sustainable practices.
